One Song: I Can Fly, Lana Del Ray (Big Eyes Movie Soundtrack) as it’s the last song I’ve heard and that’s the only way I’ll ever pick!
Two Movies: Stage Door (1937), the Ginger Rogers & Katharine Hepburn melodrama about young actresses in a boarding house in New York - not well enough known, a great example of Ginger as a comic talent and beautifully femslashy.
For contrast, Priscilla Queen of the Desert (1994), an all time queer classic, a moving tribute to friendship and a great movie for anyone, anywhere who’s ever questioned themselves and their life - thrilling technicolor and the best soundtrack.
Three Shows: Rejseholdet (Unit One) is my current obsession, a Danish police procedural featuring Mads Mikkelsen in epic buddy-cop slashtasticness with Lars Brygmann. I could list many other favourite buddy and/or cop shows of mine (The Professionals, Inspector Morse, Lewis, Grantchester, Due South) but for variety I’ll pick:
Cabin Pressure - a hilarious and unexpectedly moving BBC radio show with the voice talents of Benedict Cumberbatch and Roger Allam in the story of inept pilots for a (very) low-budget airline (shout out to Blackadder and Black Books in the comic vein) and:
Colditz (BBC 1970s version, not the more recent adaptation), a brilliant classic of the TV world about the Allied POWs of WW2 incarcerated in Colditz Castle and all their ingenious attempted means of escape, with (heh, in my tinhatted opinion) epic queer subtext.
Four People: What sort of people? Let’s say: Enid Blyton, Agatha Christie, E.M. Forster and Sarah Waters - authors who made me read, authors who helped me grow up and figure out who I was and that it was something OK to be.
Five Foods: Salt and Vinegar Crisps, so-mature-it-crunches Cheddar Cheese, Helda Beans, Heniz Tomato Soup, Lapsang Souchong Tea *drools*
Six people to annoy tag: @sineala, @the-day-the-work-is-done, @heliophile-oxon, @bishybarnaby, @saintvic, @moppetcakes - and anyone else who’d like to! *g*
