"Stop it Cole! Stop!" I laugh, struggling to get away. He always tickles me. But I like it tho. Cole makes me feel wanted in a way. Like, I actually get noticed by someone.
His phone rings. Cole stops his ‘play time’ with me and looks over at his phone. “It’s Veronica. Give me a second Lee.”
"Hey!" Cole says excitedly. I watch him as he talks to this girl that he’s been talking about for a long time. I kinda get jealous. Wishing that was me. Hoping it would be me one day. But that wont happen. Cole’s my best friend. He will never see me the way I see him.
"Okay sounds good! See you soon." Cole finishes, smiling, as if he just won a million dollars.
"I’m gonna go now." I rise from my feet, heading to the door.
"No, stay. I wanted to watch the Avengers with you. I never seen it before!"
"I have things to do Cole," I reject him.
"Bu-" I interrupt him.
"No Cole. Why don’t you invite that Veronica chick?" I immediately turn around, in shock of what I just said. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. I tell myself.
Cole grabs my wrist, turning me towards him. “Lee. Are you..jealous? I mean I didn’t mean it in a mean way. But what’s up with you?” He questions.
"I’m not..jealous." I lied. Cole stares at me, deep in my eyes.
Before you know it, Cole closed the gap between us. Our lips meeting. I pull back. “What was that?”
"I can tell when you’re hurt. And I can tell when you’re.. jealous. Remember that we are best friends. Don’t forget that. To be honest, I’ve been liking you for a long time. But if you think about it, I never thought you’d like me back since we were ‘bestfriends.’ So I had to do something about it. Maybe even forget about liking you." Cole says. My heart beating really fast. I blush, feeling my cheeks getting warmer and warmer every second.
"You just said everything I wanted to say to you..except for forgetting about liking you." We giggle. "Cole. I should’ve told you a long time ago. But I’m not jealous. Not anymore since you kinda explained about you know..liking me. So go on and enjoy your time with Veronica."
"No. Forget about Veronica. Let’s focus on us.”
I smile. “Come on, Avengers is waiting for us.”
