FORWARD | Women's March on Washington
We Want To Be Seen. We Want To Be Heard.
The new activist must be silent, yet strong.
Caring, yet daring. Passionate, yet unimposing.
Assertive, not defensive.
There’s so much chatter in the world, amongst each other, within ourselves...outcries of rage, hurt, discontent, sadness and despair.. expressions of desire for change.. from caos to peace.
Seeking merely relief.
And yet those voices are drowning.
Not one word spoken is heard.
Voices drowning in fearful waters.
Rivers of expressions run dry, we are all fishing for an ear to listen.
And yet are we really listening? Where’s the relief if we keep screaming? To others, to ourselves?
Let’s pause and redirect.
Let’s pause and reconnect.
Let’s reevaluate our methods.
Instead of screams, let’s use silence.
A Thunderous silence blasts the doors of change wide open, powering through the new way of peace.
Thunderous silence amongst a sea of cries, is louder and more powerful than all the screams combined. It reduces the loudest voice into even less than a whisper.
Then for a moment, all pause. All are silent. We have their attention.
Now, everyone listens.
We turn around and walk the other way. Action.
And everyone follows.
