The Vampire's Curse || Chapter Sixty-One A Ghost Boy's Memory Lane with the Ice Kirin
Hi everyone. Here is Chapter 61 for the Vampire's Curse written by me and the lovely @the-silver-peahen-residence. It's a long wait, but after Chapter Sixty, I am going to go ahead and do Chapter Sixty-One. Hope you have fun reading this.

After the meeting with Kisho, Yuji, Megumi, Maki, and Norotoshi, Danny decided to fight Yuta by himself to help Rioto and everyone involved. However, there is one person he needs to convince.

"Fenton. What is the meaning of this?" Torahito scowls as Oda is sitting on his chair at the table while he stands. Danny is at the opposite side of the table, looking down. Danny had to talk with Oda as it is urgent after last night. "You told Kamo that you're going to fight Yuta by yourself! Are you hearing yourself?" He said. Well...more like Kamo told Oda by Danny's request. "I told you that Cyno's men is going to look for him and-"
"I know what you said. " He tells him, cutting him off. Danny didn't like to interrupt anyone, but he had to let them know. Now. But he is also talking to Oda as well, whose bangs are hiding his eyes. "I know that we can leave the search to Cyno's clan members, but I have to join just in case. Like Shukaku said, he might go rogue without realizing due to blood craving fever." He tells him. "You said that we have to prepare for the worst case, Oda...Omida." He said his first name to get his attention.
Omida raises his head, "That I did. But are you willing to go toe to toe with Okkotsu Yuta? He is a student and nephew of Gojo Satoru." He said. "Okkotsu is not a special grade for nothing. Tell me, Danny. Do you know why Shukaku categorizes you as a Special Grade?"
"Because of my background..."
"That, but you are incredibly effective against curses, even those of special grades. Sorcerers, on the other hand...they're a different level." He said. Danny nods, "I know. Shukaku said the grading system is where if the curses are grade one, but if a sorcerer is grade one, they will be considered a semi-grade one since a Grade 1 sorcerer can defeat a grade one curse. It depends if the curse has a cursed techinque and how much cursed energy they have. I remember when we had that ghost from the zone with the guitar?"
"Ember."
"Yes, her. That one is considered a Special Grade in the eyes of sorcerers with that world chanting techinque and how she possesses the crowd. And that's another one with control over technology. Tech..." Omida speaks. Danny smiles a little, "Technus.."
'Yes." Omida said. "I remember him, and I will admit, I never fought anyone like him before. Even my generals have a problem dealing with the robots he took over." "But a special grade fighting a special grade sorcerer, it won't end well, Fenton." He said. Danny nods, "I heard from Rioto that Yuta is pretty strong. Like way stronger. I saw him fight a couple of times and...well...I'm not going to lie to you, Oda. He does scare me more than most ghosts and curses, and that's saying something." He said.
"And yet you still wish to fight him?" He asks him. Danny nods, "Yes."
Omida hums, "I see. Why?"
"Because I am immune to the curseblood curse and not just that..." Danny took a brief pause, "I'm doing this for Rioto, of course." Danny begins. "If it comes down to it..." Since he first met Rioto, he thought the guy was pretty intense..
-------- Flashback -----
"So you're the American!" Rioto said with his arms crossed. Danny had to blink at Rioto's appearance. Are those antlers, and why do they look like glass...wait no...ice? Danny then sees a floating blue seahorse that has a unicorn horn.
"Yep, that's me. Fenton. Danny Fenton."
"Pleased to make your acquaintance. I am Rioto Kirin. This is my shikigami, Miryu, and this is my vice general, Yoshino Junpei."
"Nice to meet you," Junpei said with a smile and a wave. Miryu lets out a bleat, greeting Danny. Danny smiles at them. "Nice to meet you two." At least, Junpei looks way more normal than him.
"Ha! It's good to have a foreigner join Oda! You're going to love it here!" Rioto grins. And so he gives him a tour around Nagoya. Telling Danny about everything and the generals. What is their squad is like. What they do for fun? How they take down curses and curse users.
"Tell me...Fenton. Why did you join Oda?" Rioto asked.
"Well, uh..." Danny said. "I kinda have powers, I took a gh-a curse that is attacking people and..to be honest,." He didn't want to say that he's half ghost. "And I'm here for the space program in Japan!"
Rioto widened his eyes, "As in...you're studying to become an astronaut?!"
"Wow!" Junpei nodded his head, "That's pretty cool!" Junpei said. That makes a lot of sense given the reason for Danny being here.
"Yeah...I guess so." Danny chuckles. Rioto smiles, "I always want to go to space."
Danny blinks, "Really?"
"Of course! My dream is to build a mecha to reach the stars and create a moon base!" Rioto grins.
"Eh?" Danny blinks. Junpei sighs, "Here we go." He said, shaking his head with a smile. Rioto begins, "Sure, it's a pipe dream, but with my techinque and smarts, I will be able to do it! I just need a rocket or a mecha that is enough to reach the skies without melting." He said, creating a small mecha at the palm of his hand. Made out of ice and snow.
"Woah.." Danny blinks. So this is a cursed techinque. Is every sorcerer's techinque different from each other.
"Tell me, Fenton!" Rioto placed his hands on his shoulders, "Have you ever watched Gundam?! YOU SHOULD!" Rioto yells. Danny speaks, "I-uh...know a friend who does." Tucker comes to mind. Rioto grins, "Is that so? I want to meet him!"

"To be honest, hearing that he wants to make a mecha and to make a space fortress on the moon? That's pretty crazy but admirable." Danny said. "I wanted to become an astronaut, but you know...building a moon fortress sounds pretty amazing," Danny said with a chuckle, "But also...Rioto says the darnest things..."
------- Another Flashback -----
"HAAHAHA! This suit is far out!" It was Technus, and he managed to take over the west sector of Nagoya. What's worse...he has a robot suit. The one that Rioto told him about. Gundam. He stole it from the famous Gundam factory. And well...the ice general is not happy.
"HALT!" Rioto stands before him, "How dare you, SULLY the famed RX-78F00?! How dare you corrupt it!?!" Rioto said, pointing at the Gundamn that is now in green and black thanks to Technus. "THIS IS UNFORGIVABLE! I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL!"
Danny sweatdrops as he is floating in the air, facing Technus-Gundam.
"HA! You dare to oppose me?!" Technus laughs, pointing his sword in his mecha suit. "Me, Technus! Master of Science, Technology, and Electrics. Who are you supposed to be, Deer boy?" Rioto is happy to introduce himself, "I am Rioto Kirin! Demon Ice General of the Oda Clan, and I will be the one to defeat you!"
"Demon General. Defeat?! HA! I am master over these robots!" Technus said. "With this, I can reach the power grid and take over this place so you all know my greatness! What are you supposed to do. You're SOOO OUTNUMBERED"
"You think so?!!" Rioto scoffs, "I know way better than you, Technus! You think your robotic minions are enough to overwhelm us!" He snapped his fingers and summoned a giant monster by breaking down three ice golems he created and had it form into something else.
Whatever Rioto is doing, it's working. He has Technus's full attention.
"OH yeah! What's that?!" Technus said as the icy mist covered the streets and soon a huge shadow appeared.
"I can make a better robot than whatever this is! What is with these updated robots! They are nothing before my Kirin Units!" He said.
"Oh yeah! Show me!" "Of course! Iceberg Mammoth!"
A loud trumpeting is heard as heavy footsteps shake the streets as a massive mammoth that rivals the Technus Gundam. Technus laughs, "Oh! This is going to be so delightful! You will receive the full might of Technus!"

"And despite that...he never gives up." Danny said.
------- Flashback --------
Mammoth fought the Technus Gundam, but it wasn't enough. Danny can see Rioto struggling as he is at the top of the Mammoth. Danny went over to Rioto, "Rioto-"
"Not yet, Fenton. I haven't lost yet!" Rioto said.
"But-"
"I know what you're going to say. He's too fast, and he is flying around in the mobile suit. After getting a good read on this...hehehe...I think I can find a way to defeat him." Rioto grins, "I can finally show you the closest thing to my dream now." He smiles, now looking more motivated. Danny blinks, "What do you mean?"
"Did you charge the core I gave you with your cursed energy?" He gives him the bubble core. Danny nods his head and takes it out of his pocket, giving it to him. This core is the size of a baseball. "Excellent..I think this is enough to create the suit I wanted to build in my head."
"What are you going to make???" Danny said but he has a good feeling. Rioto's Kirin Units are something that of an imagination that nobody can compare to.
"Kirin Winterblade Gundam." He grins. He then snaps his fingers and the Mammoth begins to disppate, now changing form as Rioto goes to raise his hand, holding the bubblecore filled with ectoplasm energy. Soon, the snow and ice begin to swirl around Rioto, including the glowing blue cores that are in the sky. Technus had to stop, watching this unfold. "What is this sorcery?! What is that?!"
"KIRIN WINTERBLADE GUNDAM!"
Soon, things are being constructed, ice is hard as steel, and everything is being formed. Danny watches this with awe as the being that was once a massive mammoth became a mobile suit of ice. It had a helmet with horns, antlers, and a unicorn horn, now revealing itself to be a Bushido. Then the mist breezes through as the mobile is fully formed.
"WOW! Now that's far out!" Technus Gundam never thought to see technology as beautiful as it is. It made him envy Rioto a bit. "You think your mobile will defeat mine!?"
Inside Kirin Gundam is its pilot, Rioto Kirin, as Miryu is above him, acting as a living conduit, transferring all energy from Danny's core and everything into the Gundam's functions. Rioto chuckles as he sees Technus Gundam on the screen. He takes a deep breath and shouts, "That's right! You will never defeat me, Technus!"
Then two mobile suits clash, creating a legendary battle of the century. Danny widened his eyes. This is like straight out of that show that Rioto showed him. Technus laughs, "Ha! A ectoplasm saber beam seems like a ghost boy really helps you, eh!? That's not enought o beat me!"
"We shall see! I make sure you never threaten Nagoya again!" Rioto said.

"I remember that one..." Oda begins, "It took a lot of time to cover that up. We had to say it was a show not to let people panic. However...I am impressed that Rioto created such a thing despite it taking a lot of cursed energy from him."
"Yeah...he was in bed and took two weeks for him to recover before waking up," Danny remembers quite well when he looks after a sleeping Rioto with Miryu curling up beside him. He had to admit, Rioto is pretty awesome. "And he also knows my secret." "How did he take it?"
"Well..." Danny sweatdrops.

After revealing what he is to Rioto, he had to prepare for the worst outcome. He told him about his accident and everything that made him him.
Rioto stares wide-eyed, "So you're like...a Newtype?"
Eh?! Danny just stares at him. And what now?
"Danny...I...that's awesome...I mean no...that's terrible..I mean, sorry...something. It sounds like you died and came back as someone else entirely. You were cursed, but in a way, you didn't die because you..." Rioto had no idea what to say, "I figure that's the case when Technus and those few other ghosts call you, Phantom and Ghost boy." He said. "I knew that you were different from everyone else, but that's okay! It's okay to be different...!"
"Uhhh..." Danny has no words. He expects rejection and tons of question but not this. "You don't think...I'm a freak?"
"No. I mean... look at me! People think I'm a reincarnation of Yuki-Onna..." Rioto makes a face, "I got bullied for something I was born with."
Danny felt stupid as he almost forgot the difficult lives that sorcerer had. That's true. He is told that sorcerers who see curses are alone, especially at a young age when they will be ostracized by the normal populace for revealing that they can see curses that most people can't see. Not to mention, sorcerer are born with traits related to their techinque causing more ostracization. Rioto with his nautral white hair is one of those circumstances.
"Besides...being a half-ghost...is pretty cursed but...you're doing something about that. That's pretty admirable. Did anyone know?"
"My family and friends..." Danny said. "But I had to leave due to the space program and other things..." He said.
Rioto nods, "That's fair. It's a good thing you came here. There aren't a lot of curses in America. You have kinda similar ghosts but! We have a lot of freaks here!"
Then Danny laughs.
"We should tell Junpei..I think he would be stoked!" He said. "I mean...I think he already knew."
"Knew?!" How the heck Junpei knew?
"Yeah...apparently...someone made a web series about you...as....you and inviso-o-Bill look similar to each other." Rioto explained.
"UGHHHH!" Danny groans, hating that nickname. "That's not my name! They're still sticking with that?!" This got Rioto laughing. Danny huffs, "Hahaha...very funny. At least, my name is not Elsa!" He shot back.
Rioto gasps. "Do not say that name in front of me!" He said. Then both pause and laugh with each other.

Omida smiles, "I'm glad that you and Rioto are good friends." He then became somber, "However, are you sure about this? You're fighting Okkotsu, who is Rioto's partner. Are you okay with Rioto not knowing that you're going to fight Okkotsu and end up getting hurt."
"I'm sure," Danny stated. "It's because I hate seeing Rioto like that...scared of himself and scared of hurting other people. I know...what's that like..." He said, frowning as he recalls his own past back at Amityville. "Not to mention, seeing people who care about each other end up hurting each other...is something I don't want to see. That's why I have to do this. Not just for Rioto but for everyone. I mean...there's someone I care about that too. "A familar werewolf girl who Danny has feelings for.
"Rioto, Junpei, Makou, you and everyone." Danny speaks, "This whole thing is getting worse by the day and I want to make sure nobody gets kidnapped or turn into a monster." He said. "I bet Okkotsu doesn't want to hurt Rioto despite the blood craving fever and that's why I have to stop him. I think Okkotsu would want that." Danny said.
Omida closes his eyes while Torahito frowns more.
"So please..." Danny gets up from the table and went over to Oda then proceeds to go down on his knees and press his head against the floor. "Let me fight Okkotsu if the situation calls for it."
Oda widens his eyes at this. He never had someone requesting like this. It's usually his enemies but not his allies. "Fenton. Lift your head and stand up. There is no need for that." Omida went down to his knees and placed a hand on Danny's shoulder, "Given what you said, I think you're right. As much as I dislike, your reasoning is sound."
"Omida..." Torahito lowers his eyelids.
"I think anyone in your place would understand or rather most people would understand. Even Rioto. Even if he doesn't understand, he will in due time once this entire thing with the cursebloods is over." Omida said. "So here is my order. My request to you, Fento Danny."
Danny raised his eye, looking at Oda's eyes of determination. "Bring Okkotsu back and make it out alive. Do not die on us and come back alive."
Danny smiles before letting out a chuckle, "I die once. Not going to die a second time, dude. Don't you worry, Omida."
"Good," Oda said. "But to make sure, let's form a binding vow. I think it's better time than any to get the Special Privileges."
"Huh?" Danny blinks, "You mean the ones that the generals get."
"Yes...it helps boost their cursed energy output when they're close to death." He said. "I know you're powerful but think of me of giving my cursed energy to you if that something happens. Do you accept?" He gives him a handshake.
"Danny Fenton, your mission is to help Fujiwara clan to bring Okkotsu back alive. If you're close to defeat, you can take my cursed energy." He said. "Do you accept these terms."
Danny did so without hesitation, "I do." He shakes his head. Right away, he hears the rattling of chains and a sharp click is heard in his head. So this is what the binding vow feels like.
"Good. I will inform Cyno that you will be joining them."
-------- A few days later -------
Minsako can't believe that Danny is joining the search and what's crazy is that Danny announced to the clan that he's going to fight Okkotsu on his own. It's crazy. Even Cyno couldn't believe but hearing Danny's reasoning. Danny is the best chance they've got in retrieving Okkotsu.
"Danny...are you sure you're okay with this?" Minsako asks, "I know what you said but-"
"I'm sure." Danny said. "Not just for Rioto but also for you, Minsako." He said making Minsako widen her eyes, "Danny..."
"Yeah...I don't want to see people dying in front of me again..." Danny said, seriously, as they're both with each other alone someplace where they won't be eavesdropped on. They're on the outskirts away from Nagoya as they are searching for clues. But then they receive a call from Misty.
"Guys...we found out where Okkotsu is." She confirmed. Minsako lets out a breath while Danny stays calm. It's time.

After the meetings of both Oda and Sukuna's the two groups are processing the information given to them. To deal with this, one of the Oda members has a plan to deal with. -----
Kisho Hashimoto couldn't believe this. He thought the appearance of a Level 7 curseblood is bad enough. But the good thing is that Yuji and Jinx defeated it thanks to Minsako and Danny's help. But this...this is way worse.
Sitting at the table with Megumi, Maki, and Yuji, who stayed silent, mulling over the news and the orders they're given. They're invited to Megumi's place. Kisho can tell what everyone is thinking. If Yuta is turned against them, how are they going to deal with it if that happens?
Kisho looks over to Maki, who is more troubled by this than anyone. She work with Yuta longer than anyone else. The two are a powerhouse duo since both can use weapons more effectively than others. In a way, Maki is considered Yuta's close friend.
Next, he looks over to Megumi. Megumi is part of the Gojo clan like Yuta, and he can see that this makes him more upset than anyone, even if he's not showing it. Because like Maki, Megumi knows what Yuta is capable of given his techinque and skillset.
Then there's Yuji. He and Yuta spar times here and there. Both work together, and Yuji knows how strong Yuta is. Hell, one time, they chased him and Rioto down when he screwed up a job.
He blinks and sees Norotoshi frowning as he leans against the wall. Out of everyone, Norotoshi is Rioto's senior, and he knows Yuta thanks to Gojo, and Rioto thanks to Oda.
As for him, Kisho hasn't fought Yuta, so he has no idea what Yuta will do. But he knows how Rioto will be devastated if he finds out. Or heck, he will go on a suicide mission to save Yuta, knowing him. If anything, by a slim chance, Rioto is the only one who can stop Yuta. He hopes.
Speaking of Rioto, he got a word from his friend group. Not too long ago, after the meeting with Sukuna ended. The Oda clan had their meeting regarding the matter coincidentally, and he got a text from one of them.
"Guys.." Kisho begins, getting eyes on him. "Given what's going on right now...." He stated. "We need to come up with a plan."
"A plan?" Yuji asked.
"Whatever it is. We can't tell Rioto, Kisho. You know that better than anyone." Megumi tells him sternly. Kisho closes his eyes, "I know. I know. Knowing Rioto, he will do anything to get Yuta back." He said. "I mean...he fought an entire horde of cursebloods by himself at the gym facility without telling anyone. Not even Yuta."
"Oh yeah..I saw how upset he was..." Maki said as Yuji sweatdropped, remembering how upset Yuta was when he found out Yuta was being lied to. Now they have to lie to Rioto about Yuta. "Yeah...and also...I got a call from one of the members from Oda."
This got everyone blinking.
"Who?"
"Danny Fenton." Kisho said.
Megumi blinks. "Hold on." He narrows his eyes, "Isn't he one of Rioto's friends? Why would you-"
"He also got the same news as the demon generals, due to reasons." He said. "And for good reason. He wants to meet us like pronto."
Kamo Norotoshi seems conflicted, but he heard of Danny Fenton before. The American sounds like a special case based on the rumors. He's not a general. "I would like to meet him. If he is one of Rioto's friends. I want to know why he is an exception compared to Yoshino and Hariko." He said.
"Got it." Kisho texts, hit send, and got a response. "He's making his way here."
"Let's see what he says," Maki said.
Thirty minutes have passed, and Danny arrives at the door with his hood up. He knocks and is let in by Kisho. "Hey." Fenton begins. Kisho nods as Fenton is directed to an open seat. Nobody in this room had a proper conversation with Danny since they didn't get a chance to or didn't think of talking to him. Megumi and Maki know very little about Fenton. Only that he's the assistant to Oda's healer.
Norotoshi somewhat knows about him. He is told by Rioto that, despite being an assistant, he is not to be underestimated for any reason.
But Yuji can tell this Fenton guy is different. Way different. Call it a gut feeling. Danny goes to sit down at the table. It was silent, and it is making things a little uncomfortable, so Kisho went to break the ice and do proper introductions. "As you all know, this is Danny Fenton. A member of Oda, and he helps Oda's healer, Makou Orotoshi." He introduce his guest, :Fenton, this is Fushiguro Megumi. This is his friend, Itadori Yuji."
"Hey." Megumi nods with a subtle nod as Yuji nods, "Nice to meet you!" He said with a small smile, given the circumstances.
"This is Zen'in Maki."
"Just call me, Maki," Maki informs Danny. Danny nods and Kisho goes to introduce the last person, "And this is Norotoshi Kamo, head of the Kamo clan."
"It's nice to meet you, Fenton," Kamo speaks. The American nods his head at the three, "Thanks for meeting me here." He said. There's a brief pause. Itadori starts, "So what's the reason you're here?"
"Right now, as everyone knows...Yuta has been kidnapped." He said. "And I bet you're getting the same message from your guys." He said. Yuji looks down, "My older brother told me to be careful and..well..."
Maki sighs, "Yuta hasn't drunk properly because he can't have Rioto's blood without being frozen." She frowns, "So we have to wait and see if they contact us about Yuta." She said, tighting the grip on her arms. "Tch...one of you has the nerve to say that he will turn against us."
Kamo sighs.
Danny closes his eyes. This is what Shukaku worried about. "As much as I don't want to admit it, given the circumstances....the cursebloods will take advantage of that and turn Yuta rouge. That's why...I'm here to say, I'm going to take on Yuta head on. Alone."
Shock fills the room.
"You..huh?" Yuji widened his eyes. Megumi stares at Danny incredulously. Maki yells, "You're going to what?! Who do you think you are!" Maki asked angrily.
"Danny..." Kisho is shocked to hear this.
"What do you mean?" Kamo questioned.
Danny explains, "I'm going to say this. I don't think any of you want to hurt Yuta if he loses control of himself or you can't even beat him." Maki glowers at that statement, Megumi narrows his eyes while Yuji looks conflicted, "Not only that, I have a greater chance of taking him on than the rest of you guys, no offense." Danny added. This got the three frowning. "Not just that, I'm not doing this just for Yuta but for Rioto as well," Danny stated seriously, making Kisho and the three blink. "I mean...When I heard that Rioto came to donate his blood and just couldn't...I can't imagine him facing Yuta when he's not himself. I don't think anyone wants that." Danny lowers his head with his eyes closed.
"So if any of you sees Yuta...call me right away," Danny said. The three look at each other. Megumi asks, "And you think you can take him on, Fenton. I understand you're a Special Grade, so it makes sense for Special Grade to take on Special Grade. But Yuta has a limitless amount of cursed energy, can heal himself using reversed cursed techinque, and he can copy any techinque." Megumi said but then adds, "And most of all, he has Rika. Now we don't know what's going to happen to Rika if Yuta loses control so he might use her against you. Are you even prepared for that."
Danny closes his eyes and lets out a chuckle.
"Something funny?" Maki narrows her eyes.
"No...you see...in my experience, I fought off spirits that you consider Special Grade. Back home, I fought ghosts...they're not the same as your cursed spirits, but you guys label them as special grades given how they form. The ghosts I fought used to be human..alive. They come in many forms you can't imagine. I even fought a hunter and some government agents. So..." Danny shrugs, "I think I can handle someone like Yuta and Rika together." Kamo widen his eyes, "There are different types of curses in America? All of them are special grade??" He asks. Danny replies, "You can say. that. You call them Vengeful Curses when a human dies with regrets and negative emotions. I get those kinds of ghosts all the time over there, but they differ due to...uh...biology."
"Biology?" Kamo questions. Danny sighs, "Long story short, they're a different kind of spirit from curses with similar origins."
The sorcerers didn't thought about it. They remember where Hollows differ from curses as well. The difference is Hollows can be purified by Soul Reapers while curses are exorcised by jujutsu socerers. Ghosts are on the other-
"Wait...how do you beat them?" Yuji asked.
"You seal them and put them back into the Ghost Zone..."
"By sealing them, you seal them by using those thermos that Oda mentioned?" Kamo answered. Danny nods.
"Rioto told me about that..." Kisho said. "The Ghost Zone is where all the ghosts live. It's not heaven nor hell..just a place for ghosts to live."
"Huh?! There's a place where ghosts live?!" Itadori asked. "That's crazy.." "Exactly. But getting back to the point here.." Danny gets back to topic, ."All I'm asking...is to leave Yuta to me. I can pin him down in the meantime so you guys can deal with the rest of the cursebloods. For Rika, I can seal her with my thermos to weaken Yuta." He said. "I am guessing that they're going to send Yuta after Rioto..so Lord Fujiwara will have Rioto somewhere safe away from the curseblooods and Yuta himself."
"Is that going to be okay? Won't Rioto found out what's up?" Yuji asked worriedly. Danny sighs, "I don't know to be honest...but like everyone else, I do agree that he should not know for his own sake and Yuta's." Danny frowns. "Because I know Yuta doesn't want to hurt even he needs the blood. And Rioto doesn't hurt him even he wants to help him." Danny said.
Danny remembers that day when Rioto was attacked by a curseblood that tried to spy on the clan's meeting. Danny found Yuta and Rioto at the park whereas Rioto is clutching to the tree, freezing it as he wants Yuta to stay away from him.
---- Flashback ----
"Rioto...I'm here. It's okay.." Danny said, placing a hand on his back. Compared to the rest, Danny can handle sub-zero temperatures given his ghost form.
"Yuta..." Rioto said.
"It's okay, he's not coming close to you," Danny said. Is he that scared of Yuta? No, that wasn't it.
"Is he okay?" Rioto sniffled. Danny blinks. "Please..you can't let him get close to me. I don't want him to get hurt. I don't want to go through that again." Rioto sobs against the tree. "Not again.." He pressed his forehead against the tree bark, and he froze solid.
Danny knew what 'not again' meant. He understood what he needed to do.

Kisho frowns, hearing that RIoto tried to donate blood but just couldn't.
"That's why I have to fight Yuta myself so nobody will get hurt.."
"Except for you.." Maki said. Danny looks at her and then does something. His hand passes through the cup of tea that Kisho prepared for him. Yuji widened his eyes, "Wait...how can you..."
"Intangibility.." Danny tells him. "That's one of my specialities..."
"Meaning..Yuta is going to have a hard time hitting you.." Kamo said before Maki scoffs, "Yeah, but Yuta is going to find a way to overcome that with Rika."
"I have a plan when it comes down to that," Danny said. Kisho frowns. "Still...are you saying you're going to face him alone? That's going to be hard." He asks him. "Someone has to, Kisho. I know I am asking something crazy but it's the only way to keep him at bay. If he turns rogue, I'm worried that he is going to come after Rioto without realizing it." He said. "If that happens, both will end up..."Danny frowns, "I'm not going to finish that sentence. I think all of you get the idea." Everyone frowns deeply, not wanting to imagine that scene.
Still...having Danny fight Yuta. This is going to cause a problem but at the same time...
Megumi closes his eyes, "Okay..then it's settled."
"Huh?" Yuji looks over to Megumi, "For real?"
"He's right, Itadori. Yuta is strong. Closer to Gojo. You need a special grade to deal with the special grade. We can't lose any more people. Besides...we don't know who the mastermind is or how many upper levels of cursebloods are out there. We have to talk to Sukuna and Gojo about this." Megumi said. Sukuna will find this reasonable, but Gojo...he isn't sure. "Although...you might need to convince Gojo, Fenton." He tells Danny.
"I figure that." He said.
"And me as well," Maki said. "Look, I go with Yuta on certain jobs, and I know he's no pushover. I heard all about you, but all I heard is that you're just an assistant for the medic. Why is that? I know you're good at fighting but you could become a general or something." Maki questions. Danny takes a sip of his tea and lowers his cup, " "Because someone needs to make sure the curses don't escape if things went down."
Making Maki raise a brow as Danny continues, "Yeah...we not only seal curses, we make sure they stay inside. Technically...what Makou and Shukaku refer me to as a warden." He tells him. "Not that I like the word..." Memories of Walker but besides the point, "But I am used to chasing ghosts all over back home, but here...I don't get to do it as much since there are people who know how to take down curses."
"At first...I didn't understand why Oda told me to be someone medici, but I understand the reason now. I have to make sure no curses get through me as I'm the first defense." Danny said.
-------- Flashback ----
"Huh? Wait...you want me to be an assistant to Makou?"
"Indeed," Oda stated. "When you told me about your story and hometown, I thought it would be the best role for you, plus you did say that you're studying for the very important aerospace program, so this is the best. "
"I mean...thank you! That actually means a lot." Studying for the aerospace takes a lot of time and studying and Danny greatly appericate it. However..."Like seriously, ..I thought you wanted me to go out there to fight these curses." Danny said. "You said it yourself...I'm um..."
"A special grade." Oda finished. "Yes, it's true that your experience is suited for combat and many studies but..." "But?"
"There are curses that we need to look after. And due to the thermos you have, I suspect we can make more of them and use to seal curses that we can't defeat...at least not in our current level. After careful consideration..." Oda begins, "You are the assistant to Makou. We need someone to look after the curses and make sure they are never run amok into the public." He tells him. Danny widened his eyes slightly.
"Now this is a hypothetical scenario that likely won't happen, but just in case if it does happen. Fenton Danny, you're our first best defense against these kinds of curses." Oda said. "That's why this role for you is perfect, given your skillset and experience. You know better than anyone how to defeat a spirit or a curse." He said. "Makou's medic is not just a healing facility but also a place where we seal curses away."
Danny lowers his head; he never thought about it that way. It's true that most of the time, he spends in his parents' basement looking over the machine that is connected to the Ghost Zone. He captures ghosts and puts them back in the Ghost Zone.
"Does that make sense?"
"No..I mean, yes! I mean, when you put it that way, it actually makes a lot of sense. But still..what happens if a powerful gho-I mean curse shows up." Danny corrects himself. Oda closes his eyes, "If that happens, I will call you for backup. In the meantime, I don't want you to lag behind in your studies. Are those terms acceptable?"
"Yes, sure! Sign me up!" Danny smiles.
Oda laughs, "Good. Now then..let me introduce you to Rioto. He will give you a tour around Nagoya."

"So that's why..." Yuji understands now. "You're like a jailer for the curses and make sure they don't leave without getting through you."
"That does make sense..." Norotoshi said, someone is needed to keep a watchful on the sealed curses. "Exactly...I always check their condition." Danny said. "I learn more about curses in the meantime and how they work. It got me up to speed but anyway! That's the biggest reason why I have to fight Yuta and Rika. If Yuta does bring out Rika, I can trap her in one of my thermos?"
"Is it enough to contain her?" Megumi asked. Danny notices, "Yep after weakening her." This got Megumi make a face. Danny raises his hand, "Hey now! I can handle 2v1 before! I'm not new at this!" He ensures her. Megumi sighs and looks over to Kisho. "Hashimoto..what do you think?"
"In my opinion, Fenton is capable of such feats and Rioto tells me that Danny is very strong and has many abilities besides intanigability."
"Wait...you got other powers?" Itadori asked. Danny nods to which Kisho nods, "Basically...in Rioto's words, he can do anything that a ghost can do!" He said. Maki blinks and raises a brow, scowling, "What? Anything that a ghost can do? So he can do anything like a curse does?"
"Are you saying that you can do anything like a curse does that most sorcerers cannot?" Kamo asked.
"Sort of that like that." Danny and Kisho said in unison. Then they blink and look at each other. Maki sighs, "Fine..." She scratches her head, "But I am going to be there when it goes down. Got it?" She frowns.
Danny nods, "Got it." He said, then placed his phone, "Let's exchange contacts." He said. The group does so. Yuji, Megumi, Maki, and Norotoshi have mixed feelings, but if Danny is capable of facing Yuta. They have to place their bets on him.
"Did you tell Oda about this?" Megumi asked. Danny stays quiet.
"Fenton?" Kisho asks. Danny sighs, "I haven't yet...but I'm about to soon when I go back." He hopes Oda doesn't get too stressed out by this.
------- Rioto's place ----
'You want me to go where?" He asks as Hariko nods, "Yep. Fujiwara's orders. He's worried that cursebloods will try to find you because of Verglass." Of course, Hariko doesn't know the true reason behind the orders as he is not told the truth. Junpei is there with Rioto.
"Look...I'm not so defenseless that I need protection, Hariko." Rioto said with crossed arms. Hariko chuckles, looking sheepish, "I know, I know. But honestly...the situation is getting crazy, and who knows when or where the cursebloods are going to attack." Hariko tells him. Rioto closes his eyes with a sighs, "Fine. Let's go." Rioto said, gathering his personal belongings.
"By the way..." Junpei begins, "Do you guys have a TV or anything?"
"Uh...sure. Why?" Hariko asks.
"Rioto and I are thinking of binge-watching a movie marathon," Junpei said. Rioto grins, "Star Wars!"
"Oh, I'm so in!" Hariko said. "We also have popcorn!" Hariko grins as he high-fives Junpei's hand. "Nice!" Junpei smiles. Rioto chuckles, "Since I'm moving to Fujiwara, I can send letters to Yuta more easily." He said with a smile. Junpei smiles, "I bet."
"I think Yuta would like to see your letters!" Hariko said, cheering him up. Rioto smiles, "I know." I hope it brings him comfort. Rioto smiles to himself.
Little did they know that they had no idea what was happening to Yuta.

Weakly, Yuta is in a daze, but his eyes are closed, and his mouth is closed. Dried blood is present on his face. He is alone in the cell as he begins to twitch and groan. His head is hanged, facing the floor. Soon, his eyes began to open slowly...almost halfway..the irises of his eyes were crimson red, and he looked at the reflection of his own blood. He smiles a little...revealing sharp fangs.
"Reindeer...."
