2. Is there a driver you like more now than you did at the beginning of the season?

it's probably cheating to say seb or lewis because my love for them keeps growing so my answer is guanyu!!! obv i was planning to cheer for him but we didn't know him yet so i was hoping he wouldn't turn out to be a jerk. but so far he seems funny and endearing and sweet!! i love his relationship with val! he has excellent fashion sense and his helmets are the best. plus i feel like he had a pretty decent rookie season (despite alfa constantly sabotaging him with the car) and i'm excited to see what he'll do next year!

17. Your favorite race of the season

this question is very difficult bc as you know, i didn't watch most of the races live nor were most of them worth watching after the fact lmao. i did enjoy the races where seb drove like a maniac like austin and suzuka... austin also gets points for seb lewis racing but i did not enjoy max passing lewis toward the end or seb's pit stop (even tho he had the time of his life). in the end, i'll pick bahrain (even tho seb was out with covid). the season started so promisingly after that charles win, lewis p3, double red bull dnf. i also enjoyed kmag p5, val p6, and guanyu getting a point in his first race!!! oh how dumb and young and full of hope for the upcoming season we were...

dear autumn my wife’s wife, thank you for allowing me to run a small portion of the lewis baby girl alliance but really thank you for being our fearless leader. i definitely followed you for your highly intelligent basketball and f1 opinions as well as your beautifully written fic (god it’s truly unmatched. so captivating, so wholly unique and perfect). but what i love is that sometimes i’ll get so overwhelmed with how much i love lewis and i’m like shouting to the universe do other people get it?! and the universe shouts back DUH autumn gets it. you also crack me up with how funny you are, whether it’s silly headcanons or shade towards … certain people, you never fail to make me laugh thank you 🥹 i love that we cause each other pain with our edits and tags and insane behaviour in general. i’m thinking about the 5 course all vegan all organic, sustainable meal we’ll cook together one day for some esteemed guests. cant wait :)

for the ask game! basketball or f1...which one do you enjoy more?

Thank you for asking, but it's a trap! Lol, I'm curious to see how my relationship with F1 continues through the off-season. I've obviously been ~following basketball for a while longer, since 2016, and so I have more history with the players and teams. I have a better context for the sport. So I think in terms of being able to flip a game on and watch and hook in with some level of familiarity, that's higher. Beautiful Warriors basketball is one of my favorite things ever.

F1 activates another part of my sport brain - I want to geek about the science and track surfaces and the physics of it. It feels like podracing - brain go brrrrr. But there are a lot of things that I don't feel like I get/accept quite yet, lol.

Enjoy? Hmm. I do better with sports that don't require daily expenditure of psychological effort (like the NFL). So I think F1 probably squeaks by on that front. You stress the weekend but then Monday-Thursday you're as involved as you want to be. Whereas the NBA is more like baseball where I end up checking out for chunks of the season.

thank you bestie for this wonderful question, i am finally getting around to answering this!!! last week was too tiring and i had to work this weekend so i did not have the energy to take out my computer to type this out bc as you know i have MANY seb/lewis headcanons WHERE DO WE START?? *cracks knuckles*

the most important headcanon is they're in LOVE!! obviously we all know this. my personal headcanon is they've always been acquaintances/rivals/friendly ever since they started racing but neither saw each other in That Way. (plus lewis had the whole thing with nico, don't even get me started on that it's a topic for a different time)

until... BAKU. it is canon that baku 17 was the turning point in their relationship (seb said so himself which still makes me insane and i’m attempting to sorta write a fic about how/why this moment!!). we may never know what was said in that phone call but it was SOMETHING. anyway i truly believe after this day their relationship deepens and they grow closer and they slowly fall in love... it’s one of those things where it isn’t a sudden earth-shattering realization but their friendship becomes comfortable and their respect for each other just grows and grows and they enjoy each other’s company and have fun together and genuinely LIKE each other (which was not true for lewis and nico, especially at the end). then one day you look and you realize, oh... you love this person and you’re IN love and it’s been that way for A WHILE. and it scares you a little bit but also you’re excited!!! (like that feeling you get before you ride a roller coaster)

anyway i think this is how it happens for both seb and lewis but probably seb first. i don’t have a specific timeline so choose your own adventure :) seb doesn’t say anything, he knows the history with nico (not all the details bc lewis doesn’t talk about it really but enough to hate nico) and how much it hurt lewis and he knows it took lewis a long time to heal himself!! he would never push lewis but he believes that lewis will get there too because he just... trusts in their relationship. and lewis does! it’s not any big thing, it’s just lewis asking seb if he can come to switzerland. because he knows how seb feels about home and he’s telling seb he wants to be part of that home. anyway they both know what it is ofc seb kisses him the moment lewis shows up at his door. and they have frantic mind-blowingly hot sex because they’ve also had all this pent up sexual tension. and then they follow that with more sex but slower and more TENDER, just exploring each other’s bodies and getting to know each other in an even more intimate way. and they cuddle in bed and talk about their future!

7. what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?

probably whales, they're so complex and fascinating. sometimes i watch whale videos on ig for relaxation. i also love whale sharks but they're not very common in aquariums... one of my life goals is to swim with whale sharks one day. oh!!! and MANATEES! there are some in captivity here bc they're rescues and being rehabilitated, they're such sweet gentle giants and i could watch them eat heads of lettuce all day

15. rank the methods of death: freezing, burning, drowning

omg both you and EM asked this... am i supposed to give my professional opinon lol. i think freezing >> drowning >>>>>>> burning. don't really wanna get into gruesome detail abt it but i can elaborate if anyone really wants to know...

22. do you have an emotional support water bottle?

yes! my mango colored hydroflask. it has gone on every hike with me so it's been to various mountain peaks and around the world :) always keeps my water ice cold

29. preferred pasta noodle?

i generally prefer short pastas unless it's a very specific dish. my favorite pasta noodle is orecchiette. i feel like it goes well with a variety of sauces and cooking methods.

Spend 24 hours handcuffed to - Lando! Might be surprising but honestly I think as long as we've got snacks and music we can make it work. He can be chill. And if he's not chill, well 👀

Take home to my family - Charles! He's so polite and sweet. Am I keeping him forever? Probably not. But they'd all be so charmed.

Cross Country road trip - Gotta be Daniel, I think. He's the whole vibe, and he'd make it fun and be easy-going when stuff goes wrong.

is there a piece of media that has had a lasting impact on you? if so what is it??

this is such a good question and i can't say it's something i've really thought about but what immediately came to mind is a book called when breath becomes air by paul kalanithi. it's an autobiographical memoir. he was a neurosurgery resident who was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer in his final year of residency. it is incredibly moving and also incredibly sad.

the book details his journey into medicine as well as his experience with his lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, and what it was like for him to go from being a physician to being a patient. i read it a few years ago so i don't remember all the details but his story is incredible and the book is very well written. but i think it impacted me because it really made me reflect on what kind of physician i want to be to my patients. as a physician it's sometimes easy to forget that every patient is a whole person and they have an entire life that isn't just defined by their disease. i think this has become especially true since covid and burnout among healthcare workers has really gotten bad. it's really hard to be compassionate when the hospital is full and you're overworked and patients are so sick and it feels like nothing you do can save them. we've encountered so much sickness and death that could've been prevented, and it's hard not to be angry. especially when there are patients/families questioning everything you do. i think healthcare workers have suffered a lot of abuse as the pandemic has gone on and it's not surprising to me so many people are quitting. anyway wow this got quite depressing but i try to always remember that i'm here to care for people and just do the best i can. there's a beautiful quote from the book that has always stuck with me

"you can't ever reach perfection, but you can believe in an asymptote toward which you are ceaselessly striving."

well, this answer was way more serious than i intended but i highly recommend the book to everyone. obviously it is a heavy subject matter so i know it might not be for some people. you don't have to know anything about medicine, but be prepared to cry.
