This painting has a bit of a history. The title, “Rescued By The Thought Of Somwhere New” comes from writings of mine. Some viewers made a connection between the title and the imagery, theorizing “somewhere new” was a physical place. Others commented on what they saw as barbed wire on a sunny day. This painting has shown in galleries, cafes, restaurants, a city hall, and other places in between. It was inspired in part by the song, “For Whom The Bell Tolls” by Metallica and has been debated by Metallica fans more than once. When all is said and done, the painting is very personal for me.
