After discussing our mood boards, we came to the conclusion that we all like large text as the main design element, as well as large coloured splashes that can be intertwined with our water consumption theme.

Collection=Interpretation

Here is my mood board for this project. I wanted to use a large font and abstract lines to illustrate water.

I also wanted to do something photo-based for this project, such as taking a picture of wet clothes on someone, squeezing water out of clothes, or using all the glasses we have to put them in the shape of clothing items, and then writing down the number of glasses needed to hold all the water needed for one item.

Here are some of the visual ideas I had for our project. I came up with different ways of presenting our message, as I didn't want to use charts and diagrams for all three posters we had to make.

My main idea was to compare the amount of water used for each item with how much water people drink. I wanted to do this so that people would realise how bad the situation is.

I also liked my other idea - to write the number of litres used on the tag or label instead of the price.

Another idea I had was also about how much water people drink, but I thought illustrating cups of water would be too boring, so I started thinking about other objects to pour water into. I liked the idea of depicting pools in the shape of jeans, sweatshirts and trainers and adding measuring lines to show how much water is used for certain things. But my group didn’t like this idea as much.

Here are some of the ideas for the main theme for our project. I discussed these with my group on the phone as I was ill and they decided that they want to collect data for fashion. So we thought that the best would be to choose an item of clothing each and look how many people we see wear it in different places from 5pm to 6pm.
