Exhibition Review | Magnificent Obsessions: The Artist as Collector
Magnificent Obsessions showcases the private collections of 14 post-war and contemporary artists and the result, according to Rachel Campbell-Johnston, is dizzying. It is “an eccentrically evocative exhibition, as visually diverse and intellectually sprawling as it is psychologically resonant and emotionally inspiring.” Magnificent Obsessions is at the Barbican Centre until 25 May.

Christie’s has bought Collectrium, a platform that allows art buyers to manage collections on digital devices, in a bid to strengthen its ties with wealthy collectors and emerging market customers.

Art Market News | Bear Witness at Sotheby’s
In March Sotheby’s will stage one of the most unusual auctions of a single collection ever to take place, which will include a feathered polar bear and £25m worth of contemporary art. The unifying theme for the auction revolves around the anonymous vendor’s fascination with bears and skulls. The exhibition, Bear Witness, will run for a week before the three-day sale in March.
