Cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that is diagnosed at birth. It causes build up of mucous to form in the lungs making it hard to breathe. My best friend Colleen Lusk was born with cystic fibrosis and recently passed away three months ago. This little girl strived to be the best she can be and be a normal teenage girl. For the most part she was a very normal girl. She inspired so many people to be a better person. Just her presence could lighten anyone’s day. I can’t even explain the hardships her family has been through with Colleen and her sister Erin constantly being in and out of the hospital.
She passed away far too soon at the age of 16. Her favorite show was Ellen, thus came a promise made by another one of her best friends, Dana. She started a hashtag #ColleenOnEllen which has gotten over 20,000 tweets in the first two days. Dana recently posted this video and it currently has 3,831 views. We want both of these number to keep going up until we get her on Ellen. We need to share her story and also her sister’s who at the age of 19 currently lives with this disease.
