“Ugh!” you groaned. This week has been one of the most stressful you’ve had in a while. You had been given the task to do a series of paintings. The theme for the paintings were ‘light’. The catch is that your professor doesn’t want you to take it literally. No matter how much you asked him to elaborate, he refused! You sighed and put your forehead on the desk. If only you could actually think.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Rue kissed the top of your head and kneeled beside you. You lifted your head to look at her and immediately had the idea you were praying for.
“Oh my god! OH MY GOD!” you shot up from you chair & started jumping.
“What? Y/n what is going on!?” Rue looked at you confused.
“My professor has us doing a big project and the theme is light, but i just got an amazing idea!! I’m gonna need your help!” And with that you gathered all of your supplies.
The giggles of you and your girlfriend Rue could be heard ringing throughout your dorm room. Rue got clean her senior year and took in photography as a new way to cope. She has such a skill for it and you were extremely proud when she told you she applied for college. Whenever you hace an art project the two of you make it a day. You borrow her camera and walk around the city.
This time, you decided to change it up. You set up a spot in the dorm to have Rue model for you. After a few hours, you finally have your pictures.
“Why do you need me again? You haven’t told me your idea.” Rue said over your shoulder as you upload the pictures to your laptop.
“You’re gonna have to wait. I promise you’ll love it.” You smile and get straight back to work.
It’s been two weeks and you’re on your last painting. The whole week Rue has been bugging you to find out what you’re doing for tour project. You find it absolutely adorable. She’s been trying bribe you. One day she came home with all of your favorite snacks and smothered you in kisses. After you told her you weren’t gonna tell her, she gave you the silent treatment for all of ten minutes.
The day finally came when you finished and Rue couldn’t be more excited. You laid out the paintings on the bed and waited for her to get home. You couldn’t help but to be a little bit nervous.
“Can I open my eyes yet? You’ve had me waiting for so long.” Rue jokes.
“Okay open in three, two, one...” You count down. You look at Rue to try see her reaction. She took you into her arms and kissed you.
“This is beautiful, y/n.” She caresses you’re cheek.
“You mean everything to me and I wanted to show you exactly that. You are the light of my life.”
