I was watching the fields being harvested from my window earlier, and as a result I've been reading roman harvest poetry and associated writings. I like this line from Tibullus:
"I sing the countryside & the rural gods. The fields bear the harvest; warmed by a hot sky, each year the earth lays down her yellow hair."
Rura cano rurisque deos. Rura ferunt messes, calidi cum sideris aestu deponit flauas annua terra comas.
Hoxe vin a colleita dos campos dende a miña fiestra, e por iso estiven lendo poesía romana sobre a colleita. Gústame esta frase de Tibulo:
"Canto do campo e dos deuses rústicos. Os agros levan a colleita, quentes coa calor do ceo, cada ano a terra deita os seus cabelos amarelos".
