Their family really, truly canât catch a fucking break and that much is made evident when ATF decide to show up during the middle of Sunday dinner and haul Lettie off in handcuffs. The whole thing is almost a blur, a crying and confused Benny having been handed off to Reina immediately while Rowanâs protective streak zeroed in on Lettie and she followed them out to the car trying to get answers. But, of course, Lettie is an adult and Rowan isnât her mother, so they donât have to tell her anything. Not that that stops her and Andy from showing up at the police station only minutes after ATF, waiting impatiently for them to finish processing her all while waving a checkbook in the receptionists face. A few hours later it turns out that it pays to be the sheriffâs daughter and Rowanâs finds herself being lead to Lettieâs holding cell by her father who reminds her he is breaking all kinds of rules right now. She gives his hand a squeeze, thanking him when he leaves to give them a little privacy and Rowan immediately begins checking Lettie over for any signs of injury. The arrest itself hadnât looked particularly rough, but she saw Andy beat to hell at visitation thanks to COâs far too many times to trust that nothing had happened behind closed doors.Â
A soft sigh leaves her lips and she runs a hand through her hair. âTheyâre not giving us any information on bail for you yet, but the second they do weâre going to have you out of hereâ she admits, knowing itâs better to just tell Lettie outright how it is rather than try and hide anything from her. Things arenât exactly looking good right now, but at the very least she can guarantee Lettie that she isnât in this alone, and that they arenât going to leave her to figure this out on her own --- no matter how things are legally or biologically, Lettieâs their kid and theyâre going to make sure sheâs taken care of. Bail money, good lawyers, whatever it is theyâll make it work. âAre you okay?â It feels like a stupid thing to ask because nothing about this situation is okay and sheâs pretty sure Lettie is just going to say âyesâ anyway, but itâs a start.Â
