Nightmares

They were chasing her, she didn't know what they were but they were following her and she couldn't outrun them. "Finnick!" she cried out, but he was nowhere to be seen. She turned around to face them, and the mutation standing before her had his eyes. The same creatures that had killed him all those years ago had returned to kill her. She didn't fight them, she didn't try. She felt their teeth sink into her flesh....

Screaming, Annie woke. It was only a nightmare, but it had all seemed so real. Fumbling around in the dark, she found a flashlight and switched it on. Her skin was clear apart from a few scratches inflicted on herself a few weeks ago following a different nightmare. Even though she knew it wasn't real, she still thought it could be and it terrified her. She curled up tightly and began to sob.
