In 1975, @Cartier created today’s #WearableProzac – the famed #CollierCrocodiles – as a #SpecialOrder for #MaríaFélix, the beautiful queen of #MexicanCinema. Félix went into #Cartier, with a baby crocodile in a jar, asking them to make a necklace featuring the young reptile’s likeness; urging haste, before it grew too big (they finished in two months). Instead of creating one #FiguralCrocodile, they fashioned two (out of 525g of #18KGold) that could be worn together as a necklace, or separately as brooches.
