I didn't drink any alcohol (outside of church) until I turned 21. The summer I was 21, I went to a bar in England. It was in Soho and it was most definitely a gay bar (great bar, btw). I knew VERY few drinks and had no idea if things like "sex on the beach" means anything across the pond. So without thinking, I asked the bar tender for "something fruity." She put her head on the bar and laughed. Left. Came back five minutes later and asked if it should have alcohol.

oh, goodness. My 21st birthday I was in Rome so no one cared. We went to our local bar where they brought out increasingly neon shots for us and earned the eternal respect of the bartender on staff we didn't know for knowing the words to the "mother-mother fuck" rap from "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back."  They gave me a bottle of prosecco.

HAHAHAHA, I FOUND THE THING. First off, your states are stereotypically and geographically polar opposites, so I find this particularly amusing. California - you either spend all your days at the beach with a surfboard saying dude while hanging out with the stars, or you're eating riceronni on a street car after going on a wine tour. New York - you live on caffeine and ginormous pizzas. You never sleep and you don't own a car.

BOTH OF THESE ARE ACCURATE TO MY EXPERIENCE.

except for the rice-a-roni/streetcar/wine bit. That's more northern cal and I can't speak to that.

I was on the surf team in high school and definitely spent more than my fair share of time on the ocean and on the beach watching stars. 

And now I don't own a car and caffiene is vital for life.

Which is why I don’t bother playing memes here anymore. It makes me depressed. In that I will respond to others, but I don't reblog at all

I did post one, to no responses at all. Which, meh.

But, agreed. I think I just need to not. People rarely tag me in things and people rarely send in asks. It's probably healthier to just not ask.
