just gonna talk about a show a little bit

So I started watching a show called Colony (the first season’s on netflix, second season finished today). At first I wasn’t too into it, but then I just kinda found myself digging it more and more. Solid actors (even some of the kids were good), and even though it’s premise isn’t the most unique, it’s still a show I ended up enjoying. 

(real quick premise: aliens took over earth, the show follows a family trying to survive. the wife works for the resistance while the farther is -forced- to work for the aliens in hopes to find the son they were separated from when the aliens invaded. sounds like a bunch of CW drama, but it’s actually done pretty well. part of the fun is how the show teases the mystery of the aliens)

The show kinda became personal to me. Like, it’s not super mainstream. Tumblr isn’t overflowing my dash with gifsets. It’s subreddit’s fairly small. It’s largest following is on twitter, where #colony occasionally trends. So I think a big reason why I like it is because it’s sort of a show I can have to myself, if that makes sense.

I wouldn’t go out and tell people “YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS SHOW” because people will watch it and probably get pissy over some of the flaws it has. They aren’t giant, but every once and a while something small thing gets forgotten, or a character does something kinda stupid for the sake of drama. But I can look past that since they’re small. The second season definitely has improvements.

I dunno, I just wanted to talk about it a little bit. I found myself actively seeking out its fanbase, going on its official website to read more about the world, and even signed a petition for it to get renewed for a third season (and it did, woohoo). That means the show’s doing something right, I suppose.

It’s a solid sci-fi show, and if you can ignore some of the mistakes then it’s a fun (albeit depressing at times) ride.

Well that was one hell of a finale. Can't wait till next year when it looks like shit will really hit the fan with the hosts..........side note once a rat always a rat.
