This is from the cache of Color-Sonics films that was recently uploaded to the Internet Archive. I've never seen this film before. Has anyone ever heard of Gemini Planets?
Color-Sonics Treasure Trove!
A treasure trove of films from the late 60s made for the Color-Sonics film jukebox was recently uploaded to the Internet Archive - 42 films! If you've been paying attention to jukebox films for awhile, you know that Color-Sonics films are rarer than hen's teeth, largely because they're usually found on standard 8mm, magnetic soundtrack, cartridges - a very obsolete format.
The Internet Archive cache was transferred from the original cartridges, but without color correction, and with the soundtrack scanned separately from the films and then reassembled, which results in some not quite in sync sound. So, the transfers aren't the greatest, but it is a very rare opportunity to see these films at all, in any quality. There are lots of films here that I've never seen before.

Scopitone Archive has become part of the permanent film collection at the Museum of Modern Art
The Museum of Modern Art in New York recently acquired the bulk of Scopitone Archive's film collection as well as all of its research materials on the film jukeboxes of the 1960s -- Scopitone, Cinebox, and Color-Sonics. These materials are now part of MoMA's permanent film collection and will be preserved for generations to come.
The collection includes 16mm prints of more than 500 film titles plus a large amount of print materials, including manuals, brochures, posters, flyers, articles, advertisements, etc.
The collection is not currently on display at the museum. However, serious researchers can obtain more information about access to the collection by submitting a request to the museum's Film Study Center. https://www.moma.org/research/study-centers/fsc-faq
This guy is embarking on a project to transfer and archive a box of around forty 8mm Color-Sonics cartridges. Can't wait to see the results!
To this day, I've never seen an operating Color-Sonics machine. Although a few Color-Sonics films were also released as 16mm Scopitone prints and some Cinebox films were released as Color-Sonics cartridges, there is a whole library of Color-Sonics films that were only released on these cartridges, so it'll be very interesting to see what he has.

An entertaining 12-minute tour of the inside of a broken Color-Sonics Combi 150 film/record jukebox. I have never seen one of these running -- and I still haven't.
