So, for all of us who know how hard these guys and gals work every day, but lack actual visual idea of how, here is one tiny teeny example. Seems so little, and even unimportant to the naked eye, but not only is it crucial but it also is a perfect visualization of quite a few of the many personal and professional skills you need to work a #fire. And a life: Strength, skill, ability, sense of humor, pride (of an accomplishment, a job well done, not of yourself), the ability to work effectively in a team, on all positions and not only the ones our misguided pride believes we should be in) and, above all, and you can see it glowing here through these gorgeous angels smiles, TRUE LOVE that comes from within and in such an overwhelming unstoppable wave, that it has no choice but to erupt in the care for others. For the truly special ones, our angels, in the most selfless acts of all, putting your own self and/or interests in possible harms way for no other reason than to care for others, and do what’s right. Even when it can (and does, daily, in many different ways) hurt or even harm yourself. May they be your immediate family, friends and community, or absolute strangers they’ll never know or see. May it be your “own brigade”, the one next door or one in a galaxy far far away with people you will never know or see. Why? Because it’s right. And they don’t give a rats ass who gets credited for it. Why? Because it’s RIGHT. That, my friends, is the best example of how to live. And be. Thank you to each and every single one of you out there who ARE that. I salute you. #selflesslove is the ONLY love there is. The rest are interests. #coloradofire @bigsurfire Photos by @therealmracai, a proud member of the incredible all volunteer @midcoastfirebrigade #honorablepeople (at Carmel Valley, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CZFrni9vjGg/?utm_medium=tumblr
