so i guess i’ll just go over my giants in general first, some very basic info about each of the main guys.
reagan goresworn my beloved. the family black sheep turned rural irish urban legend. long story short with him was he wanted to sing and dance and the consensus on that in giant culture is that anything creative is unproductive. seen as a freeloader (which to be fair he kinda was) reagan left home to settle in a cave in the mountainous regions of ireland. it’s here he made a name for himself as an urban folktale, known for his... well, people eating.
and then there’s geoff bloodcurdler. orphaned by a dragon attack in the early days of The War between dragons and giants, he grew up in a less-than-comfortable orphanage doing the hard labor of smithing weapons for giant soldiers. the orphanage was liberated by a wing of dragons, and geoff migrated to the southwestern coast to settle down. he now resides in a small giant settlement on the still-turbulent border of Giant and Dragon territories, and keeps to himself for the most part. he’s nicer than he looks and has some... issues, but those can be gotten into later.
this is saylor sandsweeper, a water giant abandoned by his parents in dragon territory, and taken in and raised by a small family of blue dragons. he was raised by the dragons’ standards, which gives him his lack of work ethic and generally snarky attitude (which, in turn, makes him very unpopular among most giants). he lives in a hut on the beach nearby to geoff’s house, and elects to steal food from geoff’s cellar instead of working to earn any himself. he and geoff do not get along at all.
hugo broadbone, a veteran of the war against dragons who lives on the suburban outskirts of the giant capital city. he makes his living in... dubious ways. “dubious ways” meaning he deals in humans like any other buyable goods. he markets them as intelligent, social pets, similar to how humans market parrots, but just like parrots, humans need far too much enrichment and space to roam to be happy to be manageable for most giants as a pet. of course, the type of people who buy from hugo don’t really have the best intentions to begin with.
then there’s paul. yes, paul bunyan. he grew up on earth, and has always been very very separate from the giants in his homeland of Colossa. his backstory is a little convoluted, but long story short, he had a spell put over him by his aunts that would keep him human sized until age 16, by which point his family thought he would be self sufficient enough to find his way back home. unfortunately for them, paul was quite content on earth, and ended up a folk hero on earth rather than a throwaway soldier on Colossa
finally, paul’s brother, shaun towerbreaker. shaun was 7 when paul was born and remained with his family to fight in the height of the war. he ended up losing all his immediate family in a single battle, only spared because he managed to play dead. nowadays he holds a grudge against himself for not dying alongside them, and a bitterness for his long lost brother hagan (known on earth as paul bunyan) for escaping the life that was left for him.
i have more giants than this, but these are the main six i tend to talk about. maybe there will be more talk of giants soon?

Geoff our beloved
I would love to hear ore on him if you are up for it
geoff is very cool. very cool guy. has a tragic tragic backstory but all things considered he turned out a lot better than many other of my giants have. essentially his town got burned down in the war between giants and dragons when he was a kid and he was the only person in his household who survived. he ended up going to an orphanage that was uh. not good. he learned how to forge weapons when he was the giant equivalent of like, 11. but to avoid going to detail about child labor and other injustices geoff and the other kids were eventually liberated by a flight of dragons which is part of the reason geoff is one of the few giants who’s lived through the worst of the war but doesn’t have anything against the “opposite side”
which kinda makes it funny when saylor accuses geoff of hating him for being raised by dragons but geoff is just like “no, i hate you because you’re an ungrateful little pest who’s first instinct is always the worst possible thing to do”
geoff is a cool guy but he has intrusive thoughts he struggles coping with so if you’re visiting him it’s a good idea to respect his boundaries.
ALSO!!!!!!! he plays the violin. he doesn’t share this with many people but it’s one of his greatest joys in life and he’s actually pretty good at it
oh no (and by that i mean oh yes) i just thought of a way to connect my silly dragon blog and my giant ocs and also my giant slayer oc jack
yeah
