I feel like Lee/Ten is one of those ships where the deep love is suddenly realized, not one that starts off as some shy puppy love that grows into something deeper (at least on Lee’s end anyway). It’s something he just realizes someday, and I think his display of affection reflects that.

Publicly

He’s serious about her, so in public she’s on a pedestal. He’s holding her hand and bringing her small gifts. He’s not as flamboyant about it as he would be if it were something composed of fresh feelings, he’s probably also very bashful about telling others?? Because Tenten’s his secret to keep. But everyone is probably like “lol ok we saw that comin’ Lee, this is old news” anyways. But yeah he always wants to touch her. Hold her hand or hug her from behind while she’s shopping/tending to the shop. He’s probably obnoxiously/annoyingly affectionate, she probably eventually tells him to get off of her lmao.

Affection spreads into all aspects of their social lives. In her shop, he displays affection by tidying the store and cleaning out the hearth. He makes sure all the tools are glossy. Sometimes he parades out front and tries to grab business by talking up Tenten’s skills. He brings her lunch during business hours. He’ll close shop if she needs him to. He’ll leave his own position at the hospital to help her out if she needs him to. HER PICTURE IS HANGING IN HIS WORK LOCKER.

He tells his Ma that he loves Tenten and is very adamant about it and is like “Listen I love her with all my being and I don’t care if you don’t like her I’m gonna marry her one day.” Because her son’s so passionate about Tenten, Raga likes her. If her son is that serious over someone then she’s going to be nice. She likes how Tenten dresses too. Reminds her of home.

Privately

Lee’s handsy and passionate. He frequently wants to make love to her-- He sees it as a display of passion and love, and is moreso about that than the actual act. There’s lots of snuggles and kisses. He likes to play with her hair. He’s not bad at styling since he used to wear his longs, so he asks to help her style it each morning and help her take it down each evening. They probably go to sleep/wake-up at the same time everyday.

He’s adamant about telling her he loves her each morning and night because y’know, ninja life is scary and they could die and he wants her to know how much he cares. He tells her everything too. Since she’s known him for so long, he’s not shy about telling her about injuries he’s sustained or hardships he’s endured. But tbh she’s known him for so long she can read him like a book. He likes to rest with his head on her lap. He always makes sure there is fresh pomegranate around. He playfully tries to feed her bites of his breakfast because she eats so lightly and he eats so heavily. Breakfast is the one meal they try to always have together. Dinner dates?? Nah breakfast dates.

how the hell did we do it? i often ask myself that… how the hell did we get something so good from ten and dei? not that it’s impossible, i’m so just impressed with you; i always am, always have been. when i see you making posts and working on verses, i can practically feel your excitement. everything you do, everything you write - all of it is so genuine. you make me feel like you really enjoy our interactions, like you really love your muse; i get so much inspiration from you and think about these two even when music is playing out of the blue. i love them; i love you. but also… i need to tell you that i know things are hard right now. i know sometimes it’s hard to log on or even post or even write or do something. you have a lot going on. i want you to take the kindness and the positivity in this post. i want it to find you. i want it to fill you up with so much love and luck that it drives out all your demons. i want you to know that you can do anything. i’ve seen you kick lifes ass before, i’ve seen you bounce back; you can do it all again. i’ll never stop thinking about the good that you deserve.

They are UZUMAKI; Karin more-so than Tenten, but the connection is there. Her nostalgia of familial bonds is exploitable, and perhaps that's why Karin has come to her — if she knows... Tenten has heard of Karin's cunning, her sharp wit and intellect; she wouldn't put it past her to use knowledge to her advantage. Though, Tenten doesn't necessarily mind, she's used weakness to her advantage before too. ❝ What can I do for you, Karin? ❞

karin smiles , all pretty , all soft , all fake , at the other in front of her. she’s here on duty , as the kage of her village , of uzushiogakure. as someone who doesn’t want help from konoha in general – but she knows when she’s beaten. sure , tenten might be from konoha , but she’s got her own village , she’s her own leader in her right. nails scrape against palms , and oh , she hates asking for help. she’s been taught independence since she was small , to pull your own weight and not to depend on anyone else for help. she watched her mother , time after time , working herself to the bone , and watched how she had died due to her ideals and karin , karin won’t let that happen to her. crimson watches the other , the vibrant gold aura around tenten , how her chakra pulses with curiosity , the familiar thread of uzumaki chakra pulsing underneath everything and she’s so very interested in that. not that she personally knows a lot about tenten – not really. running through the list she’s made mentally of tenten , she’s a master at sealing , she lived in konoha , and she’s a weapons master. she has a village , she’s uzumaki. she sells weapons and makes a damn good living. she leans forward , head tilting and crimson sparkling behind lenses. it’d be a shame to rush into anything. “ you sound so serious , tenten ! can’t i just visit family ? ”she can , but she doesn’t just visit anyone. she’s learned a long time ago that people end up disappointing you , and maybe that’s why karin’s ended up surrounding herself in raging waters , and ghosts that won’t allow anyone else to get close to her in fear of people leaving her. who knows , she isn’t ready to think of such things. “ do ya have any sake ? you know what they say , drunk minds speak sober thoughts , and all that jazz. ”

It was hard for him to fathom that it may not be like that in other places of the world. But he welcomed the chance to learn: He was tired of talking about himself, tired of being examined and running tests. That evening, he wanted to learn about her.

He leans out on the balcony that overlooks her ever-growing village. Some people below smile and wave at the two. Gedon does not return the greeting, albeit part of him wished he had. He continues to question Tenten:

THREE HEADCANONS : ( they’re kind of long whoops ?? )

01 . their relationship truly blossomed by akamaru ( best wingman ) . kiba was in the midst of deciding whether or not to tell tenten he had feelings for her and of course ourfurry friend was sick and tired of him talking all the time about her . day and night , allhe’d hear is kiba questioning himself if he can do it or not and worst of all is when hepretended ( he ) was tenten . using him to train and prepare himself for the big day .well , akamaru eventually decided enough was enough and when they went to seeeach other again , akamaru ever so kindly shoved tenten into kiba . he caught herand one thing led to another , ( obviously the big fool understood akamaru wasdeciding for him ) and he told her he loved her that day . his feelings were returnedand the two were never better . it was all thanks to one very , very good boy .

02 . kiba has always been amazed by tenten’s hair ever since they were young . he asked her countless times how he did it ( of course at the WORST of times ) but it wasn’t long after their relationship grew that kiba was finally given an answer . hewatched one morning as she began and throughout it all , he watched in awe athow easily she made each side so perfect . the next day , kiba asked for a turn , however the buns did not turn out so well , but tenten ( having noticed kiba’s sad expression ) wore her hair like that for the rest of the evening . after that ,she would practice with him until he could nearly perfect it . from then on , kiba learned that he loved to play with hair ( specifically tenten’s ) and sheallowed for him to practice styles she would never wear out but it was niceto know kiba appreciated her hair . kiba and tenten play with each other’shair all the time ( be it actual styling or just mindlessly running their fingersthrough their hair while watching tv or reading a book ) .

03 . kiba is the blanket hogger in the relationship but he doesn’t mind rollinghimself onto tenten to keep her warm or tugging her into his side . as for the bed hogger though , that title is on the one and only akamaru . kiba doesenjoy cuddling and kissing in bed as well ( especially just lazing around ondays off watching movies or just napping together ) . if tenten says she’soff for a day , the day is already planned out to crawl into bed and do nothing but enjoy each other’s company ( with the exception of akamaru ) .

While the thought of preservation makes him uneasy, she is worthy of holding so much in those hands. She is capable of instilling so much anarchy, where people BLEED out new colors onto her canvas and the flames simply set the saturation-… She is a woman of WAR; Aries incarnate, ALMIGHTY that walks along men… To dismiss her damage and the cruelty she is capable of, is to dismiss the time he has DEVOTED in unearthing those alluring aspects about her. They’ve always been there, he’s just brought them forth and sculpted her scene, showing her how easy it is to ABANDON what once never cared for her craft. He sees too much potential, too much power, too much promise-… If she is to die, he will DESCEND by her side. A chuckle leaves him as he attempts to dismiss his own desperation. Was that a QUIVER he hears…? Funny how sweet she can stay before a being who BREAKS. It’s as if she doesn’t need to worry about him harming her, it’s as if she thinks she’s safe. And she’s RIGHT, to an extent…the worst he will do is EXPOSE her to embers, but that is something he also does to self. No one sees her softness, no one’s offered to observe it… But he’ll STEAL AWAY every aspect of her and mentally cherish the moments when someone allows themselves to be vulnerable before this villain. He thinks people call this TRUST; to him, with her, IT’S SECOND NATURE.
