As usual, I've chosen to disregard the recommended colours in favour of something that I find more exciting!

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!

This week on the Fibre Arts blog, I'm playing around with multicolour gradients in preparation for a new quilting challenge!

As part of the challenge, I'm not allowed to share progress photos of my quilt until after the challenge deadline, but that's not a problem just yet since I haven't started my quilt!

However, I do have an idea as to what I want to do, and that is to play with lots of colour! I've tested out a gradient planning method on the blog this week, featuring a different colour scheme than the one I'll be using for my challenge quilt, and had a blast figuring out how to overlap multiple gradients in multiple colours!

Hello Friends and Happy Tuesday!

With the recent progress I've made on my Generations Quilt blocks, I wanted to take some time to share my colour planning process! This isn't the method I've used for every one of my quilts, but is one I've used before, and I wanted to share it in case it helps any of you in your own creative pursuits!

One big step in this process is mocking up the colours in the layout of the block they'll be used in. My sample uses digital mock ups, but a similar process can be achieved using pen and paper, assuming you have the right coloured pens that is!
