It's been about a year since you and Tenya have officially tied the knot and have phased blissfully into the honeymoon stage. You and your newly wed husband already made plans to find a home to begin the rest of your lives, you just didn't know Tenya was insisting on building everything from scratch.
"Oh? um yeah, quartz would be nice?" You mumbled to him. Lost in thought, you've began to rack up the price in your head— it's not looking too good.
Tenya notices how standoff-ish you've been and chuckles to himself, "or maybe platinum gold could do the trick?"
"That's nice too" you gave an empty reply back, completley brushing off his egrigeous proposal. Iida frowned as he grabs ahold of your sides and gentley carresses your cheek, "honey… is everything alright? You've been psyched about building your dream kitchen for weeks! Are you having a change in thought?"
You break from your thoughts with a soft sigh, "god I'm sorry Ten… yeah I'm just thinking about how expensive this is all gonna add up to. This is my dream kitchen so of course I'm gonna pay for it–"
"excuse me?" Iida chuckled.
You gave a shy smile, "since I'm gonna be here the most often… y'know? Taking care of our future children and cooking for every occasion–" Tenya immediatley stops your rambling with a tender kiss on the lips. Pulling away he can't help but to pull a sly smile.
"What am I going to do with you? Who on earth said you of all people were going to pay for this kitchen?"
You widen your eyes at his question and can't help but to chuckle. "Well I just assumed… me being your wife and all."
"And what makes you think I can't throw down in the kitchen every once in a while?" He says, now you let out a laugh. "Tenya, my dearest love, there's still burn marks on the microwave from when you tried to cook ramen without water!"
Your husband bashfully rolled his eyes, "well y-yeah that did happen… hungry state of mind." You laugh at his words.
"Plus Ten, we're partners! There's going to be times where I do the heavy lifting and you the same. So it might not be my dreamkitchen… but what will happen inside of it will be my dream; our dream" You grab your husbands hands from your sids and press them against your growing stomach. You can't help but to smile watching Tenya melt into your touch and let out a sigh of deafeat.
"You're right… but" Tenya takes one hand away and places it back on the round of your cheek. "We're not just partners fighting side by side, we're a couple in matrimony. So… whatever you want I want, no questions asked. It's my duty as your husband to take care of you and our child by any means necessary."
You can't help but you mewl and give him a tight squeeze. Now it was your turn it melt, "you big softie… I'm just so used to doing everything on my own. It feels wrong for me to not pitch in, I guess it's hard to let old habits die." You hum in delight as you press and chaste kiss on your husbands jaw.
Unraveling from each others embrace you cling to Tenyas side and take a stroll through the floor plan of your soon to be kitchen.
"Plus, whatever I can't afford I can just add to my parents tab. Ever since we broke the news about the baby they'll just about pay for anything." He's so nonchalant about it you scoff and pinch his shoulder, "you're so spoiled, god."
"Spoiled with love, of course." He says and he pulls you closer. He looks over and still sees a slight frown across your lips as you look at the scene in front of you. He reaches down and presses a kiss on your cheek to cheer you up.
"We'll pay back in installments."
You smile up at him, "let's do ceramic tiles! It's cheaper… plus, the finishes are endless."
