This was my first purchase from this seemingly infamous company online. This is Colourpop’s satin finish lippie stix in a terracotta pink tone named “Frida” and I highly recommend it!
This lip color first applies very pigmented and only needs one ‘swoosh’ over my lips to give me a full, rich, (very!) pigmented color. Frida applies as a warm pink with terracotta tones, but its warmth does not look too orange-y, so you don’t have to worry about this color leaving your teeth looking yellowed. Because I’m fair skinned with cool undertones, I do feel like the pictures featured on ColourPop’s website (like the one I’ve included above) do this color justice, though I can imagine that it would appear much lighter on deeper skin tones. I’ve also included a second swatch picture featuring (from top to bottom) “Frida” satin lippie stix, “Midi” ultra matte lip, and “1st Base” ultra matte lip, all products which are made by ColourPop.
Because this is a satin finish, this lippie does not completely dry down, so your lips are left with the cautioning of possible transfer. Not only is this shade very wearable, but it lasted me roughly 4-6 hours without needing any touch ups. And yes, that included two meals and random sips of drinks throughout the day. Even though this product isn’t totally kiss proof, it doesn’t disappear off your lips.
My favorite thing about Frida is that it’s so, so comfortable. Its creamy satin finish leaves your lips feeling moisturized and comfortable. Frida applies so effortlessly and without a fuss that it’s really a must for anyone who appreciates pinky nudes, especially for those who favor the warmer side of tones. My only possible complaint about this product is that it can exaggerate lines or wrinkles on the lips. However, I can’t blame the product for this because most lighter nude pinks can have this issue. Like I said, this product is still a must have.
Frida can be purchased online at www.colourpop.com/products/frida for only $5.00, and if you subscribe to the company’s newsletter, you will receive a $5.00 promo code. Seriously, you can score this product for practically free. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, and there’s a ton of other amazing products on their website that you’ll probably want to check out for yourself. You just can’t go wrong!
I will be adding more reviews of ColourPop’s products in the near feature. Thanks for reading!
