What am I supposed to do with this? // Colt + Lauren
Well. She still has a job. Allie has to wait it out with the substitute EP until the new year, but that's better than having to train some moron who didn't have the common sense to not tell Allie a piece of drastic information during a commercial break. She walked around the bullpen, mouth scrunched to the side and arms crossed, lost in her thoughts and rounding the circumference of the office twice before realizing it. An awkward shake of her head and she clumsily fumbles through the desks and pushes the door into her office, not bothering to turn on the lights. Lauren plops down on her swirly chair, throwing legs onto the desk and sighing into her hands. She wrinkles a brow at the sight of a blue box on her desk and drops her legs, snatching the note and drawing her gaze to the words. There is a flurry of emotions. She is both upset, angry (without having any reason to be) and touched. She frowns and throws the paper into the recycling bin under her desk, secretly wishing it was her hiding under the desk in its place. She opens the box without care and lets out a groan, dangling the necklace from her fingers. "Seriously? Seriously!?" Lauren debated throwing the necklace in the trash, staring at it a good long time before she finally flipped open her phone and dialed the stupid number she'd saved that Colt had given her for the town car.
The man answered politely but Lauren could only snap at him while she threw on her coat and stomped out of the office, stuffing necklace back into the box and angrily pushing buttons in the elevator.
She threw the driver a forced smile and grumpily asked him to take her to wherever it is that Colt was. She felt like a small child but right now, in this moment, she couldn't help it. Lauren found it in herself to calm down enough to genuinely thank the driver and walked calmly into the building, smiled at the doorman and a quick elevator ride up she was knocking at his door.
