Journey to bottom of the ocean 🎶
Promotional drink coaster for Combustible Edison’s 1994 Sub Pop album I, Swinger.
A promotional item well-matched to the cocktail culture aesthetic of modern lounge music purveyors Combustible Edison, this coaster was undoubtably included in a shipment of Sub Pop merch to my record store. And like any good record clerk, I grabbed my share of the promo bounty, even if it was a measly drink coaster.
While Combustible Edison’s schtick was pleasantly amusing, I was mainly rooting for them due to the my love of the band from which they arose: Christmas.
