So, once upon a time, in the days of the AAI2 fan translation, Edgeworth's mention (to Fender) of 'a certain attorney' (a phrase that had invariably referred, like 'that man', to a certain Mr Wright) and his words of wisdom, was immediately followed by this:
And nrmt shippers were very excited and have been quoting it at every opportunity since. Understandably.
When the official translation was released, these lines had been changed, seemingly to remove the suggestion that Phoenix was the 'attorney/man' being talked about in this moment, and only referring to Edgeworth's father.
And nrmt shippers were a bit nonplussed and wondered if it had all been a mistranslation after all, but largely understood the importance of Edgeworth snr particularly in light of the overall themes of AAI2 and didn't cry too much. It was a little disappointing though.
There has since been a patch.
Mostly to correct typos which is in itself awesome actually because there were a lot of them and it was literally my only complaint.
Also, to do this:
That Capcom cared enough to go back and restore 'That Man' to his rightful place in Edgeworth's thoughts alongside his father, and patch this back into the game is just ... not the sort of thing I had any expectation of them doing. But I'm very glad they did!
Do you think capcom hasn’t made any new X games because they’ve started giving Classic Megaman armour accents that match the robot master whose weapon he’s using and they don’t want any Megaman X furry allegations
saw some really good points made by @stillaware and @shootingsharp so i wanted to compile some of my own headcanons/theories into one large post as well as mention both of their posts on the subject of Jill & her involvement with P30 alongside the other T-virus variants (go check out those posts, linked them below!)
removal of p30 by shootingsharp
p30 makeup by stillaware
all credit goes to them for those sections of this post, absolutely go check out those posts, they are very comprehensive and VERY well made and a lot more indepth than what i'm just touching on in this post
Jill has been exposed to multiple viruses, contagions and parasites over the course of her life after the Arklay Incident, all which have traces and a hand to play in the chemical makeup of her blood - including the Tyrant Virus, Tyrant-Abyss Virus, P30 and temporarily a strain of Las Plagas and certain strains of Progenitor.
So upon initially being infected with the T-virus, and being cured and therefore completely immunized through the vaccine that Carlos had given her, Jill is essentially completely immune to the T-virus and any T-virus strains that follow it, due to the antibodies built up in her system.
The T-virus basically provided her with all of the benefits without the negatives of brain damage and heightened cannabilistic urges, granting her a heavily improved sense of strength, speed, and stamina, alongside survival qualities and reaction time. Endurance also applies here, which is the partial reason behind her survival from the cliff fall, as she was in essentially peak physical performance since she had been infected, becoming a "superhuman".
In the first Revelations, before she fought Jack, Jill had injected herself with the vaccine to T-Abyss, which caused her to gain an immunity to it alongside the Tyrant virus and all lesser strains of it, providing her with the antibodies for both. Due to her natural immunity to T, alongside both vaccinations, Jill didn't gain any mutations aside from growing sharper teeth, primarily in her canines and molars beside them, though they are not very large nor exceptionally sharp - though they'll still deal a decent amount of damage. (personal headcanon of mine, girlie deserves some teeth.)
The Tyrant Viruses are a lesser strain of the Progenitor, which Jill also has immunity to, to an extent - her antibodies would recognize the Progenitor and would be more acclimatized to it, given that Progenitor doesn't exactly harm her due to her multiple vaccinations and built up immunity to most medications.
Going onto the P30, the chemical does not behave as a chemical would, rather, its behaviour imitates a parasite - the closest being the Las Plagas parasite originating in Resident Evil 4. This is due to the fact that it's quick-metabolising, and with a chemical that quick, the volume of the device on her chest isn't large enough to hold enough of the substance necessary for doses high enough to bypass her already strong immune system & to be effective enough at frequent dosages. (which was an amazing point raised by stillaware in this post, please go check it out, its awesome)
A parasite then, makes more sense as then it makes more sense to how the effects are removed pretty much instantly upon removal, along with the parasite's tendency to drain pigmentation, example being her hair and pallor.
The device also supplied an immune suppressant along with the parasite, due to the fact that her advanced immune system would not have taken long to kill it, introducing the progenitor strain as a supplement in order to acclimate the parasite far better to her body, seeing that her t virus antibodies were remnant of progenitor.
When it comes to the p30 once again, it essentially removed that barrier the brain has to stop someone from overexerting. Like she was able to gain increased strength and speed at the cost of breaking that barrier, basically able to heal her significantly faster.
Also due to the fact that the location of the P30 device was directly connected to her heart & nervous system, the erratic and jarring removal of it caused intense pain, as well as bringing her delayed cardiac issues due to her heart suddenly having to deal with so many injuries & the strain she had put on it IGNORING those barriers, causing her to pass out. (good points also raised by this post from shootingsharp, go check it out! amazing analysis there)
she also has a very increased immune resistance to most chemicals, medications and sedatives due to years of dealing with them and acclimatizing, which is one of my own personal headcanons when it comes to jill ESPECIALLY when it comes to how many vaccines and things she's been injected with.
I think I would definitely imagine all of these to have come together, especially in the case of the t virus variants where it would have significantly helped develop more of her survival qualities and capabilities.
I would really like Capcom to touch more on the P30 during RE5R as at the current moment it is extremely vague, as well as update the design for the device (my own personal opinion, something that controls mental stuff should be on a spinal cord or something NOT on her chest where its gonna do fuck all), as well as especially touch more on the other viruses and how it affected Jill ESPECIALLY after it was reactivated after Wesker experimented on her.
I was introduced to Iris, a young monk who’s in love with Phoenix Wright, a sweet young woman, and was ultimately placed into jail for tampering evidence.
