This theater was where I started my comedy experiment “Trew +2.” The concept was that every show featured me +2 different people every single time. Then I wanted to make it more challenging so I changed the name to “Comedy with Strangers” and brought up 2 people from the crowd who I never met, who also had no experience performing. I teach them the basics in front of everyone and then we do a show. So simple, so terrifying, so magical. The show has been featured at comedy festivals in Chicago, Houston, Norfolk, Richmond, Phoenix, Austin, and Providence. I’m itching to bring it to your city, event, festival, conference. Last year I did a version of this show at an awards show in Albuquerque. I didn't take many photos this weekend but i did rack up a lot of great @highplainscf memories. Recording a great podcast with @kylekinane and @mike_stanley and explaining the reason Japanese porn uses tentacles instead of penises. Singing along to all the great music picks during the @allfantasypod and having @seancougarmelonjordan give me one of his hip flasks because he is a sweet baby boy. Talking with @iambrentgill, @coolguyjokes87, and @theanwarnewton about properly getting your comic material on the internet and getting that money. Dancing for the first time at one of the afterparties at @mutinyinfocafe because i did not take all the drugs. Meeting @seguratom at said afterparty and not freaking out like a creep because i was on drugs. Seeing all the beautiful faces of all the former Denver comics coming back and destroying each stage. I can go on and on but the best memory is that @kaydubco, @rondoyle, @itsjessiwhitten, @metalinyourdiet, and @the_jenny_allison all came together, formed Voltron (Karen being the black lion) and got all the volunteers to do what needed to be done to make another great @highplainscf. And we could have never got it all done with out @caytonholland, @jimhickox and @bigtopstudios, and @illegalpetes, the mighty forces behind a monster fest. Cannot stress enough about how special the @ashevillecomedyfest was/is. From the audiences, to the comics, the industry, the producers, and to the city itself it was amazing.
