Comet 332P/Ikeya-Murakami
This image reveals the ancient comet 332P/Ikeya-Murakami disintegrating as it approaches the Sun in 2016. It is one of the sharpest views ever captured of an icy comet breaking apart. The comet debris consists of building-size chunks near the center of the image. The main nucleus of the comet is the bright object at lower left.
