There’s Oxygen GAS in comet halos? Shitloads thereof? What the actual crap. Surely that can’t be right... and yet, it seems to be so...
Oxygen makes stuff burn when it gets hot, and the burning uses up the oxygen. Right? That’s the whole point of fire.
If comets offgas metric ass-tons of O₂, this means that the comet NEVER GOT HOT at any point after its formation, not even during solar system formation... or maybe there’s plants on comets?
Either way, this whole Little Prince thing is sounding a lot more believable all of a sudden. Maybe the little bastard stole the Philae lander.
