Rin was on his way to see Makoto. His ear buds blasted music as he made his way down the street. He was going to meet him on the corner before going for a walk and then going to eat. It had been a while since they had seen each other. School and practices had been getting in the way, and every time they did see each other, all their other friends were there too.
He was looking forward to seeing him alone.
And then he saw the emergency vehicles parked all around the corner he was supposed to be meeting Makoto. He instinctively looked around, figuring Makoto was nearby, standing on another corner. When he was nowhere to be seen, Rin made his way over to check out the scene of the accident, whatever it was.
And that’s when he saw Makoto.
He rushed over to him, getting down on his knees. “Makoto!” His eyes darted up at the people in uniform. What was going on?
Someone had called the authorities when the encounter had escalated beyond words. Probably for a good reason, considering it had turned to Makoto having to defend himself and his irritation growing and growing as the confrontation went on. He was sure he was still shaking from rage as authorities talked to one another, got statements from nearby witnesses. He wasn't allowed to leave, and he had the unfortunate luck of having to call his parents and try to explain what had happened. Not that he could. Not in a very good manner, anyway. The brunette was sulking, for the most part, a shock blanket wrapped around his shoulders and eyes glancing from one adult to the next. He hadn't meant for it to turn out like it had, yet here he was. Eyes darted up at his name, shocked and surprised to see Rin of all people crouching next to him until Makoto remembered why he had been out and about in the first place. He was supposed to meet Rin. And he had completely forgotten. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, eyes dropping to the concrete.

Kou was walking around at the mall late one day, practice was over and she was hoping to find some things to give to friends when she saw someone unexpected. "Onii-chan?' She called, seeing Rin walking past, his head was down, and he looked like he was wearing headphones so she ran up behind him, grabbing onto his coat. "Onii-chan!" She called a little louder

Rin has followed his father to the bottom of the sea
Tsukumo was sitting on the bench in front of the beach. The one that had become such a peaceful spot to the younger teen. There was a chill that raced over his spine as he pulled his jacket closer around himself. His eyes numb as he watched the water closely.
Rin was out there now and he wasn't ever coming back. He had broken his promise, and left the Zweilt alone. Unlike all the others that Tsukumo had loved though, Rin wasn't coming back. Numb fingers reached out and curled slightly in front of him. Stroking the invisible cheek of the love that had been taken by the sea.
It was December, there was no cause for the ocean to claim another victim. no one in their right mind would chance touching its icy depths. It wasn't suppose to have happened like this. They were suppose to go together.
"Don't worry Tsuk, I'll come back with a gold medal for both of us."
His fingers curled again as he drew his legs to his chest. They had worked so hard to build a life together, moving into a crappy apartment near the complex so Rin could keep training and Tsukumo could go to college. The world was suppose to be finally coming their way.
He still could see that last confidant smile, and feel the warmth of Rin's lips against his own as their shared their goodbyes. They were finally making their dreams. All the years of working hard, and they were going to finally do it. If it hadn't been for classes Tsukumo would have been on that ship with the other half of his soul.
"The ship went down, 300 meters from the shore, I am sorry there were no survivors."
That had been in August. A month of anguish in which japan mourned the lose of their promising athletes, Tsukumo had been still. No one had seen him mourn, because he hadn't. Simply sitting on the bench that held so many memories to him, and watching the water that took away his love forever.
He wouldn't swim, he wouldn't smile. He moved numbly and spoke low. December had finally came and he was sitting at that bench once more. his hands went to his pocket as he drew out a small box.
"I was going to give this to you when you came back." He said to the air. He didn't know when he had started taking to speaking as if Rin were still with him. Perhaps it was a way of lying to himself. Of tricking himself into believing that Rin wasn't sleeping at the bottom of those black waves.
"But I never got the chance." He said opening the box and looking at the engraved ring. It was the same type that the Zweilts wore that symbolized their eternal connection. "What would think of me now RinRin?"
It had been five months since the sea had claimed its victims, five months since Tsukumo heart had been drowned in the icy cold. Five months of numb hopelessness, and now as snow dusted the ground, and waves crashed on the ground, something inside finally broke.
Tears slide down cheeks, and frozen hands unwound the scarf around his neck. Five months of nothing, was more painful then a thousand years of pain. His coat was discarded next and he twisted the shark tooth necklace that Rin had randomly bought him as a joke in his hand.
300 hundred meters wasn't far. They had swam that every day for swim practice. He could make it out there, make it just far enough to let the icy water drag him to the numbness he wanted.
The Zweilt knew there was no next life waiting for him, unlike Rin perhaps, but he couldn't imagine facing another second without the other boy. His lips turned up slightly as he stepped into the frozen water.
Today the waters would claim another victim.
Rin was about ready to strangle RinRin. He dragged his twin about half way to Makoto's until telling him where they were going, and then he found himself having to hold on to a racing RinRin for fear he would get away. They just let themselves in to Makoto's house and went straight up to his room, RinRin knocking excitedly on the door.
There had been no plans to go anywhere, to do anything specific, so Makoto sat at his desk, one hand resting on a wireless mouse, fingers of his opposite hand perched lightly on a specific set of keys. Headphones sat around his ears, helping dull out the sounds of his siblings playing and running around the house.
Luck was the culprit in Makoto hearing the knock in a low moment of activity and sound in his game. He pulled his headphones down around his neck, leaning back in his chair and fixing his eyes on his door. "Come in." Was it Haru coming to hang out? The brunette wouldn't be surprised.
