Anu Anulan and Yir’s Daughter
Anu Anulan and Yir’s Daughter is a story about longing for companionship, and finding love. The goodness Anu Anulan was infatuated with the slivery bright hair of Yir’s daughter. One day appearing as a crow, Anu Anulan the goodness called out to Alas saying that Anu Anulan had nothing to use to build a nest with. Feeling touched by the situation Yir’s daughter proceed to cut one of her three braids in order for Anu Anulan to build a nest to protect the eggs from freezing. The next day Anu Anulan appeared to Yir’s Daughter as a small girl who was crying. The small girl had nothing to use to weave the hair for her doll. Feeling moved again, Yir’s Daughter grabbed a knife, cut of another braid, and presented it to Anu Anulan. The third day Anu Anulan approached Yir’s Daughter as a handsome warrior. This time Anu Anulan (the handsome warrior) told Yir’s Daughter that he had nothing to wrap around the hilt of his sword. He told her that he would have no luck in battle. Once again, Yir’s Daughter was moved and cut the last braid of the silvery hair and presented it to Anu Anulan. Unfortunately that night, Anu Anulan could not seem to get comfortable and fall asleep on the prized hair. That night, Anu Anulan appeared to Yir’s Daughter as herself and found Yir’s Daughter weeping. She asked Alas why she was weeping and Alas replied because of her loneliness. Now that Yir’s Daughter no longer had bright slivery hair, all over her guest left. Leaving her to be alone. Feeling moved, Anu Anulan invited Yir’s Daughter to look at the sky together. They sat together, held hands, and ultimately built a relationship.
