After an amazing opening of #COMMALTSHIFT co-curated with @dexterwimberly and featuring 14 incredible artists at @aljiraart yesterday, time to ramp up for the next project with #PeterWilliams. I had the pleasure of spending the day and doing a dope studio visit in #Deleware with him. . . We are beginning to cook up our collaboration that will be on view at @cueart February 2018. #weuptosomething #jetsetforart . . You will also be able to see Peter's work in #prospect_nola curated by the big homey @toschoon in #Nola in November. (at Wilmington, Delaware)

The countdown begins. @Regrann from @aljiraart - "Bolo, meaning Speak (Up)' in Urdu, is a multi-disciplinary artist duo created by #SaksAfridi & #QinzaNajm. With a process that is complementary in nature, the experience and dynamism between the two artists makes for work that aims to make the audience consider a different perspective. Fueled by it’s roots in Pakistan and it’s home in New York City, Bolo believes humanity’s need to connect is universal and knows no borders. Their work, #Carousel, questions the duplicity of rhetoric in dictatorships and democracies, alluding to patterns of power cycles and ascendancy in human nature and human history. Aljira presents COMM | ALT | SHIFT An Exhibition of International Video Art Curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah and Dexter Wimberly July 22 – September 23, 2017 Opening Reception: Saturday, July 22, 2–5pm Curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah and Dexter Wimberly COMM | ALT | SHIFT includes the work of 14 contemporary artists who use video to explore the complexities and angst of modern times. The exhibition’s title references keyboard shortcuts or a sequence or combination of keystrokes on a computer that lead to various, yet specified outcomes. COMM | ALT | SHIFT unpacks video as a ubiquitous technology for entertainment, education and escape, as well as a powerful tool for surveillance, manipulation and control.
