OFFICIAL FEATURE ANNOUNCEMENT: COMMENT THREADS

Fanexus allows for long, threaded comments, similar to LiveJournal and Reddit.  

Motivation  

This will enable longer, more nuanced discussions that won’t clog up anyone’s dash, and let several people reply to the same comment without interrupting someone else’s conversation. This will hopefully improve the quality of discussion, by giving people more space to say what they want to say, without having to speak over anyone else.

accidentally reading comment threads in open message boards is the worst. Why is everyone in my not carefully curated spaces objectively the worst people in the world?? Just no empathy, no understanding of a world wider than they exist within, weirdly aggressive towards people having any feelings and totally unable to see any value in things they personally dont love. 

I completely support all websites moderating their comment sections, or removing them completely. It turns out, on mass, people fucking suck and we need to be protected from one another.

This just in, ao3 comment threads once they pass a certain length, are a night, are a night,are to follow. Don't do it, it's not worth it. It may be funny having five different comment threads lead to a total of 1228 comments between two people but it's chaos

more changing s**t with tumblr

So did anyone notice that now when you add to a comment thread on tumblr the text gets blocked off?  I was adding a comment under the photoset for ReijixHaruka and I noticed now that they decided it was a good idea to block off the original text with a big “x” button so that you can delete the original statement or a comment from the thread now...wtf?!
