Since the year 2012 I’ve been thinking about this day, scared of when it will finally be here, scared of the society’s opinions and scared the egotistical vulnerability that we all as humans suffer. This day i face my fears, this day i bare my soul to the world. I take this day to empower myself and empower others. Life has given so much to me and for this I’m thankful. Now I want to help, Guide and inspire others like me, and educate those who aren’t like me. But In order to do this I need to do it honesty and truthfully, and this is why I choose to come out of the darkness and into the spotlight,... I’m Puerto Rican, I’m an artist, I’m a son, I am human ,and I AM HIV+...... Five years it has taken me to sum up the courage to do this, five years of emotional battles, five years of being ashamed and all of that ends today! I’m a proud Gay Man, leader in our LGBTQ community, lover of the Arts, Health and Fitness, with a viral status “UNDETECTABLE”, that today stands tall and strong to bring all of you a message for a brighter future! Let’s stop the stigma, let us not be ashamed any longer, Take matters into your hands, get tested regularly , If you are Negative : * Protect yourself (use condoms and P.R.E.P) If you are Positive: * Take good care of yourself with the help of your doctor(medical treatment ) and maintain a healthy physical condition (balanced diet, exercise and rest) to reach a status of “Undetectable”, remember : undetectable=untransmittable * protect and educate others, Knowledge is Power, and Stigma end with us, toguether we can end HIV! I’m no longer afraid.... Today I’m FREE!!!! #worldaidsday #commingout #livingmythruth #undetectableequalsuntransmittable #imnotashamed #imfree #joshuanaponte
