Beautiful Decay is a pair of sculptures that was commissioned in 2020. I didn’t share it at the time I made it because I was on a social media hiatus. The sculptures were based on the client’s sketch and ideas. The first video is of the first sculpture. It features a rat pup skeleton laying on pyrite with moss, California poppy buds, milkweed flowers, and mallow weed flowers growing on and around it. Preserved bees sit on the flowers. The second video is of the second sculpture. It features a rabbit skull, pink lady butterflies, and red dwarf tea tree flowers.
