GIG

Gig with Common Agony tomorrow, and we only had one proper practice yesterday. The vocalist and bassist didn't turn up cos they were sick.. I wonder how will we do tomorrow, seriously. Only one practice and it wasn't with the full band. Ok nvm I hope we don't screw up or anything, and I hope I can find clothes to wear ^0^

And for now, I need to go prepare to go for practice with Knightwings already so byeeee

RANT. 14 Nov

Jamming with Common Agony just now, and we were playing some Malay song, then I just play some extra stuff in the intro, like those melodic broken chords kinda thing, then the band leader suddenly looked at me and looked shocked, and he said he liked it a lot and asked me to do the intro like this. Well duh I was happy when he said that, who doesn’t like to listen to praise? Then my other band member said he loved me style, cos I add like little melodic phrases in between some rock songs, like paramore. He said he got good goosebumps (heh alliteration!) while listening to me play and he gets “turned on” by it. Subsequently, the other members started praising me too (omg I am not bragging or Anything kkkk I’m just saying..) and I was like, shiok ah. They said i was a blessing to their band and they were glad to have me. Cos seriously speaking, I have never been praised like this before. Usually I’m like someone who.. don’t get noticed and.. Well everyone can live without me. So I was so happy and posted those things on twitter.

Thennn.. There were people who said my bandmates just wanted to flatter me. Oh wow. So they were trying to say that I’m not good and those were just.. Flattering.. Hmm. Okay I know they were just speaking their mind but, I was really hurt :/ ya ya I know everyone else in DMAT has really high standards and I’m like nothing, just some noob piano player and all and maybe I dont deserve any praise.. And my band probably didnt have good ears too ahaha. Ah but I have never felt so “wanted” and appreciated anywhere else before.

Ahhh you know how hurt I was haha though you may think what’s the big fuss I’m making but.. I really dislike to be embarrassed but.. I spent my 45 min journey home crying :/ damn it I don’t think I proved my point in this entry but I just wanna say, I like ice cream. Thank you.

Sat, 5th Nov

and also, today is our 2nd band practice with Knightwings!! (I don't really like this band name too but it's still beats Common Agony hahaha)

It went pretty well, though they have muchhh higher expectations of me or sth.. hmm.. yeah they are all very pro O: the bass player can play and sing at the same time!! And he can play the guitar as well. And his drumming skills are quite decent. 

I hope the countdown gig goes well! Less than 2 more months to go :D

hmm yeah but we're gonna have our next gig on 27th Nov!! Forgot the venue haha, but yeah I'm pretty excited about it ^o^

BANDCEPTION

OH yeaaa, on Saturday, 29 Oct, I had my first experience of a public gig!! It was called Bandception, at Fort Canning. I'm with this band called Common Agony (I actually feel embarrassed hahahaha the name so mat omgggg) and yes it comprises of like, 6 other malays hahahaha. We've been practicing weekly, and actuallyyyy I don't find us very good (they are the typical malay band, only want to play fast & loud) but surprisingly, our performance went really well!!! :D

We actually hired a van to carry our equipment there, and it feels so cool, as if we were a real professional band hahaha. Hmmm yes ok so I shall skip to the part during our performance. While we were playing, many malays (ok im not racist for mentioning malays so many times hahaha but seriously, that day was a malay day, malays everywhere~~~) were like headbanging and shouting and cheering for us, and when we received so much crowd support, it really felt really good! Yea cos I thought we weren't exactly tight and our songs weren't really that... cool..

Ok the next exciting part: I played the song, Bring Me To Life by Evanescence, and everyone cheered and clapped really loudly for me during my solo, and they all crowded around me, and those guys were like... aiya, just crowding around me and shouting my name and trying to fistbump me hahahaha it was a damn cool feeling, feels like you're some kind of star or something!! Hmm but actually, at that time I was feeling really o.o cos they were standing to close to me and I felt even more nervous :/

Ahhhh okay and so, this concludes my first experience of a public performance!!!!
