Come with the Sierra Club and friends from Baltimore to D.C. for the People's Climate March!
On April 29 a broad movement of environmental and climate justice, labor, student, and social change organizations are coming to Washington, D.C. to demonstrate a continued and growing public demand for action on combating climate disruption.
Donald Trump and his band of climate deniers in his Cabinet and in the Congress want to turn the country back to a reliance on climate disrupting dirty fossil fuels by killing the Clean Power Plan and the Paris Climate Accord. But the people in this country, and around the world, aren’t buying it and are prepared to take to the streets to demand continued action on climate change, a new clean energy economy, and safe and healthy communities for all.

Pick up: Open Works at 8:00AM
Drop off: RFK Stadium at 9:30AM
Go to Capitol Hill (march starts at 3rd & Pennsylvania)
March kicks off between 11am - 12pm
Gather on the National Mall
Bus departs RFK Stadium: 4:00 PM
Return to Baltimore around 6:00 PM
Times are subject to change, but no worries - it won’t be drastic!
In addition to getting a bus ticket, we also ask that you sign the general sign-up for the March to receive other updates and info at sc.org/pcm
All riders must travel round trip (don't want to waste a seat).
You will need to purchase a roundtrip metro card to get to/from RFK stadium and the National Mall, or walk.
Riders must sign a standard waiver to participate and minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will need to sign an additional waiver for the minor. Click on these links to preview the standard waiver, minor waiver and minor medical release forms.
We will contact the purchaser for passenger information, to provide more specifics and general information about the People's Climate March as the march date approaches.
Sierra Club transportation starts and stops with the buses, though we can advise on public transportation. Passengers are responsible for getting to and from pick up and drop off points.
Are there any discount or FREE seats for those who can't afford the full price?
Yes! See the ticket purchase board for scholarship seats.
Should I bring food, water, signs with me?
Yes! Bring anything you’ll need to make you feel comfortable, safe and ready to march! It will be a long day and Sierra Club will not be providing food. (Email [email protected] if you can volunteer to donate food.)
Will there be restrooms on the bus?
Will the driver stay with the bus while we're marching?
Yes, but neither Sierra Club nor the bus company can be held liable for anything you leave on the bus. We recommend you only bring what you can carry for the day or wouldn't mind losing if you keep it on the bus.
We’re working on hiring as many buses as we can to accommodate everyone. If the tickets are sold out, you may get on the waiting list by clicking "tickets above. Also email the bus captain (Cortez Elliot) at [email protected] and he’ll make sure you're on the waiting list. You might also want to consider taking the MARC train to/from Union Station in DC.
Who can come on the bus? Do I need to be a Sierra Club member?
The bus is open to anyone attending the People's Climate March.
Are unaccompanied minors allowed to ride on the bus?
Yes, but anyone under 18 who is not traveling with ther legal parent or guardian MUST have a waiver and release form signed by their legal parent or guardian before they can get on the bus. Please email [email protected] for details.
Will this march be permitted?
We recommend it! However, please do not bring wooden or metal poles/sign-posts. Only paper and cardboard (i.e. -- cardboard tubes).
