This is the inside of what I refer to as the grandmother tree in my backyard. During Cyclone Debbie a few years back she lost one of her big branches. We now use them as seats around our fire pit. But looking into this yesterday I was reminded that we never know what is happening on the inside of someone. They could look like they are big, bold and beautiful yet on the inside they may be being eaten alive by termites. I live my life by this statement. That also doesn’t mean that I allow someone to treat me like the dirt under their shoe just because they are having a bad day. Understanding and compassion can be available while still having boundaries. How are you with expressing your boundaries? Do you find it easy or is it a challenge? —————————————————————— #strongwithoutrealising #boundariesarehealthy #grandmothertree #youneverknowwhatsomeoneisgoingthrough #compassionandunderstanding (at Brisbane, Queenland, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVBiJiVBbeU/?utm_medium=tumblr
