I don't think we give the voice actors in FFXV enough credit. Like, they're all incredible. The sorrow masked by fatherly kindness and hope from Regis during his and Noct's last conversation. How natural the main party's banter sounds. The clear agony and grief and confusion from Noctis from the fall of Insomnia all the way to receiving the first royal arms where it turns to exhausted, emotionally drained resolve. ALL of the vocal work in Episode Ignis. How Prompto goes from being happy go lucky to how tired, nervous, awkward, and down on himself he really is when his mask falls at various points in the story (especially episode Prompto). All of the voice acting in Episode Ardyn as well.
And GOD just. That whole chase on the train. How off it feels the first time around. Ardyn has been calm and confident the whole game, why is he running now? That tone of voice and those words don't suit him. Since when is he a coward? And just *what* is going on with Prompto? He's almost eerily calm - normally he'd panic in a crisis like this before locking in. But he's brushing it off oh so easily - this isn't character development we've seen, so what's going on?
It's so, SO well done and I fucking LOVE IT. It makes us feel on edge and off kilter the whole time and it's horrifying when we, along with Noct, realize we pushed Prompto off the train.
I love this game so much yall-
