Shugo chara - Manga Collection COMPLETED.
A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to start up a new hobby. I began reading and collecting my very first series of Manga which was Shugo chara. Why? Because I loved it. Pretty much anybody who is an anime otaku fan out there would feel the same way as I'm feeling right now. A lot of people say that reading Manga isn't a as good as reading novels because it's technically Japanese comic. Everybody has their own opinions; but I feel that reading any book is the same for everyone. It just has a huge diversity that people go all around and about for.
Right! On with my very first manga that was completed in 2011! Shugo chara. One thing that I have to say about this series is... It's got a happy childhood feel to it. If you're from ages 12-15 that like this kind of stuff, You would love this series to bits! This anime/manga is mostly targeted to a younger audience. One that has your typical magical girl transformation scenes happening in it. Comparing the story from the manga and the anime adaptation. The manga was better. Of course ain't the manga always a 100 times better than the anime. When you read the books, the story is very straightforward and the artwork by Peach-pit was amazing. With me collecting this series back in 2009. It was a manga series that I grew up with.
Loved the characters, Story and artwork that peach-pit gave out. Peach-pit was smart. The only thing that kept me holding on to this manga series was the main characters. Of course we had to have a OTP (one true pair/couple). And that's the reason I held on. It was because of the female and male protagonist in the whole series. Hinamori Amu and Tsukiyomi Ikuto. Without them... The manga would probably have lower ratings.
Would this be a Manga worth collecting though? If you're 13 right now and have the money to collect all of it. Why not. It will be like a childhood attachment when you get older. As for an older audience, your attention would probably be on how cute the anime is. For story, it's your typical elementary school girl facing crazy adventures. It may not be a type of manga you would be reading when you're older because this manga is more for Young Teens/Kids.
Happy to say that I suggest watching the anime too! It's really interesting! Few years back, This Anime was probably a great anime! But now... That i'm older, I see it just as a good anime.
