Thank you Astria Wong and OCA Asian Pacific American Advocates Greater Phoenix Chapter for all your work getting the census out to our hard to enumerate AANHPI (Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander) Community. Thank you for allowing me to work along-side of you as a fellow Asian American and community advocate and MC your Complete Count Committee installation. A study by George Washington University found that a state loses $1979 per year / per person for everyone who is not counted. The census count directs federal funding to states based on this count for programs like the student lunch program, head start, homelessness and about 130 other programs. CITIES: take this seriously.
