welcome to Rennes, in Brittany, France. a city of under 400,000 which has a two line automated metro which sees over 200,000 riders a day... it is the smallest city in the world to have two metro lines, and the system has features (platform screen doors at all stations, 90 second peak frequencies) that many much, much larger cities lack.

My NY-NJ Transit Diagram is finally done! This is the first in a series of slight edits of this map showing service at different times. This one is Weekday Service including Rush Hour Service.

the second of my three sf bay area (and beyond) maps is done! this one is an experiment based on the map of the helsinki regional rail system, which ive put below the cut. its obviously highly diagrammtic as a result. i designed this one with front/back printing in mind, but it could also be displayed side by side online.

my favorite part is the icons i made for the different types of connecting services on the back of the map…

my experimental transit diagram for the san francisco metro area. it primarily shows the BART, but light rail services in san francisco (MUNI) and san josé (VTA) are included in a condensed form. i threw away some of the generally accepted rules for a good transit map (ie avoiding text at angles other than 45 degrees or horizontal) in favor of creating a striking diagram… that and the way i suggest geographic features (particularly the mountains/hills) is what makes this experimental. let me know what you think!
