@compulsive-virtuoso (continued from here)
“Zed who? Peasants these days, think that throwing out names will get them everywhere. Darling, if you are trying to name someone influential to get a rile out of me, consider mentioning someone I actually care about.” The Virtuoso laughed, mocking their attempts at threatening her. She pondered for a moment, finger tapping against her mask as she thought out loud.
“Zed… Zed… Zed… Oh! Do you mean that cowardly little apprentice that was there when I was first incarcerated? I remember that anger, so misguided, so misjudged. Wanting to kill me. ME! A gift upon the world. How are they doing? Still chasing… Shadows?” The words left her mouth accompanied by almost child-like giggles, mockery heavy in her tone. Even with the mask it was obvious how big the sneer underneath it was.
Features twitch for a fleeting moment. Kayn hadn't expected... disregard for their teacher's influence in Jhin's arrest. When he had been the one so adamant on a sentence of death. But bubbling anger at this purposeful mocking is swept beneath the idea that she was hiding her true feelings, most likely in an attempt to seem prouder. Or even to get a rise out of them despite their first words.
"You really expect me to believe you haven't heard of the Yanléi? The changes and ripples we are causing throughout Ionia? You are far more out of date than I expected, then." Kayn shakes their head as their smile widens again. Shoulders shrug as arms unfold, palms opening in the smooth gesture.
"But there is no need for me to explain; I'm sure you two will have a lot to catch up on in person."
