Asked to picture a computer programmer, most of us describe the archetypal computer geek, a brilliant but socially-awkward male. We imagine him as a largely noctural creature, passing sleepless nights writing computer code. According to workplace researchers, this stereotype of the lone male computer whiz is self-perpetuating, and it keeps the computer field overwhelming male. Not only do hiring managers tend to favor male applicants, but women are less likely to pursue careers a field where feel they won’t fit in.

It may be surprising, then, to learn that the earliest computer programmers were women and that the programming field was once stereotyped as female.

overview of what we learnt

so that we can remember!!!

we created 2 files, one was .html and one was .css and the .css was a STYLES one where we made the background pretty colors and added borders and margins and stuff like that, then linked that to the .html one, which was the actual website!!!!

we linked a website thats called bootstrap that has all these presets that you can just put into your website! also once we started using bootstrap, it was a much more clean and legit looking website (which annie nd i were not 100% happy about but u win some lose sum i guess dats da motto)

we are still confused about what the difference between doing <id> and <class> are SO we need 2 figure that out!!!!!! ask someone tomorrow b/c it seems very technical

when you do stuff you have to create like like 'boxes' for them or whatever where you do <i> hello </i> and you can also do <div> which works to help divide, but you can classify things in the divider to all be the same (which is where class and <id> come in but its still CONFUSIGN!!!!)

and likes are like href ="#" and that is in reference to a random link but YAh like 1 time i linked our website 2 this website!!!!!!!!
