I miss desktop themes and pets. I used to have a little sheep that wandered across my screen. I had an Invader Zim desktop theme; when I turned on my computer Grr would scream "I'm ready! I'm ready!", and other actions would be accompanied by Zim or other characters saying something. When you emptied the trash it would make a flushing sound. Silly little things that served no purpose other than to personalize your computer experience. We need a bit more whimsy back in our lives.
