bestie i’m not good at psychoanalysis but i’ll try my best (also cw for trauma mentions). you probably experienced some kind of trauma or are still experiencing it, and due to that trauma you viewed/view yourself as a bad person? so you identify with villains and morally grey characters and give them the compassion you want to give to yourself but can’t yet. that was probably a little too deep and also wrong i’m sorry lmfao
