I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I wanted or as I planned on, and didn't ask a lot of people I meant to. And of course the pictures I did take were shaky phonecam shits because I was also holding my cane.
[There was a lot of Kill La Kill cosplayers and I was very interested in the fact that a majority of the Ryukos were crossplayed. (As one of them agreed, 'Ryubros'.) It says something about the message of body acceptance and pushing limits, to me at least.]
I was out of cosplay on Friday night. When I came out of the tavern I saw- a Speedwagon! Fantastic! I saw some art I really wanted to consider buying in the dealer hall, more than I've ever had the urge before. I blame the ongoing jojo phase for this, probably.
Saturday morning I ran around as an ORAS Aqua Grunt with saiyanhikari as my polar (or perhaps subterranean) opposite, a Magma Grunt. We found Kyogre~ and just missed Groudon. Also just missed Archie. Boss...
We had a great time talking about Pokemon with people around the convention! Including some great people at the tea room, where we chilled and poke'd for a while. We also took a poll of congoers we saw- vaporeons, rocket grunts, people who had nothing to do with pokemon- which team they sided with. The final tally was something like A10 to M11 I think?
As we were going by, I also saw Joseph and Giorno. Swell kids! Very nice! And very nice jobs on the cosplays. I'm not biased. Those aren't my two favorite protagonists. Leave me alone. Thank you Joseph for waving at me later and humoring me.
I went back to rest my ankle for a few hours at noon. Conveniently missing what I was later informed was a pASSIONE GROUP? DAMN MY ASSHOLE. When I came back, it was as Marik Ishtar, and saiyanhikaricosplay was Yami Yuugi. We performed in the Masquerade, which took up.... hours omg OTL";; Someone took a note of the fact that I had a cane at rehearsal and they got a chair and made me sit down backstage and generally fussed over me, and it was extremely sweet! Unfortunately, they messed up our intro and our audio, and we got slid into Advanced instead of Novice even though I've never been in an event before in my life, but we did our best and it went well! Later on in the night we ran into some lovely people who loved tales of symphonia, talked cosplay shop, and dug our cosplays, over by the elevator. I liked them.
Sunday I came in as Iwamine Shuu and watched Chess, with some fantastic people even with the technical difficulties. There was an amazing YGO skit, Billy treated us to a pokemon concert, and the Legend of Groose became reality. It was good to see Maya and Beth again. I'm more resolved to make a Hatoful group happen someday. Lunch with Sarah, Woo and Steve was fun. It was nice to catch up on the con's events. A final dealer's room sweep revealed that all the jojo art was gone except for DIO stuff, which makes me consider cosplaying Vanilla Ice and making a collection of big d merch... Oh yeah, and I saw Joseph and Caesar outside but didn't get their pictures. If I'm not mistaken, Cae's face was bloodied. Do These Feels Belong To You/Do You Know These Cosplayers. Inside the dealer's hall I saw Johnny. Bless you child. Bless your painted jeans and your lipstick.
I didn't even look at the schedule beforehand or check on photoshoots. I needed a weekend to just be free. So I found out afterwards that there were some panels that I would have REALLY wanted to see, for several series I really liked, some of which featured friends. *singletear* :(
I'm glad everyone had such a fantastic time though. I wish it could have gone on longer.
Looking forward to next time maybe! I hope to stay in better touch with everyone and hope that this will lead to new friends!
