Out and about at the BottleHouse Brewery on Lee
This past Wednesday after the Wild Horses show at Wade Oval we made our way up the hill to check out the new bar/brewery on Lee, BottleHouse Brewery. The concept is interesting, though a few details still need to be worked out.
The bar boasts an open floor plan complete with upscale picnic benches and a musical stage. Think your best friend’s house in college only sleeker and better alcohol. A small amount of food is served on premises, but patrons are encouraged to order out from other Lee Road haunts or bring in their own. To top off the laid back friendly vibe, the establishment has several board games for your competitive pleasure.
The actual bar is small and tucked away. Though the beer list is diverse, the cocktails are limited, like no mixer in sight limited, so forget a whiskey soda. And another thing, on Wednesday night the bar was jam packed, and even though the scheduled band had cancelled last minute there was only one bartender on hand. I was witness to actual fist slamming on the bar counter by two patrons that were under the impression that I was served unreasonably earlier than them.
Nonetheless, I am looking forward to parking myself on a bench, winning a few board games, listening to some live music and offending some others with my uncanny ability to get good service. Bottles up!
