The Connection (2017)

This is a design of a bridge spans the Hudson River in New York. The honeycomb shape is considered the most stable geometric shape in architecture. I wanted to create the bridge that can accommodate cars but also food traffic. cars are inside the hexagon tube like the bridge, while foot traffic can cross up on the grassy paths located on the exterior of the bridge.

So I got back to school after being absent for a day. (so sad, i missed two quizzes :( ) anyway, I got our esquisse plate back. And I'm so happy coz we got high marks, me and my pair, Kae-ann. :) this is just a conceptual bridge design.

We thought that the bridge should resemble our local city here in the Philippines, Davao. We thought of making it like the native fruit that made Davao famous, the durian. The spikes in the bridge represents those like the durian. And to make it feel a bit more modern, we added a couple of random lines inspired by the bird's nest in China :) the spikes could also represent the sun that symbolizes new hope and new beginning :) so there. :)
