Architect: S. Nasuth, 1965-1969 Photo: Aileen Middel. 2013 Kleiburg was the last high rise 'honeycomb' flat of the Bijlmer estate that hadn't been renovated or demolished. Part of the Bijlmer Museum, a cluster of flats along the elevated subway, it could not be demolished. The building was severely neglected and the owner did not want to invest in renovation. It was sold for €1,- to a project developer, who stripped the building down to the raw concrete, demolished its exterior staircases and transformed the flat into the DIY-flat (de Klusflat): people could buy the stripped apartments for a price way under the market value and build up their property like how they want it. Anno 2016 the flat is enormously popular and is called 'The Miracle of the Bijlmer'.
